“Denver” ‘s owner found!!!

Miracles do happen, if you believe…and if you work hard enough!

It is now past midnight, and I have just spoken to Lynn, who confirms that her mother had lost two shih tzus 3 days ago.  On one of them has deformed legs, and IS Denver.

Everything fits the description – we did rescue TWO shih tzus, and one has been adopted already.

Their names are Buttons (10 years old) and Marcus (2 1/2 years old).  Marcus is the one with the deformed legs, and at the time of writing this post, I have just spoken to Shirley, Lynn’s mother.

Shirley is crying so much now – tears of joy, of course!  She hasn’t been able to sleep for 3 nights.

She confirms that Marcus was born with deformed legs (and we are impressed she has looked after him so well).

I’m arranging with Alice to get Buttons back from his new owners, and also arranging with the vet to enable Shirley to collect Marcus tomorrow, if the vet would allow it (the clinic is closed on Sundays).  If not, then Monday, though Shirley wishes she could have them back right now!

Ahh….goodnight, everyone.  What a happy ending!!

Don’t we need more of such happy news?

P.S.  On hindsight, if we had not stepped in to rescue Marcus, he would have been euthanised.  I can’t believe how heartbreaking this would have been for Shirley and Lynn.
Always, always save a life first…then we figure out what to do next.
While is it would always be better if we had a plan for the immediate future for every rescue that we do, the priority is STILL to save lives and prevent any form of unnecessary killing.  Call it anything you want – put to sleep, euthanasia, etc – the bottom line is, it IS killing, and KILLING IS NEVER RIGHT.
