S.O.S for 6 kittens

This is a really sad story.  One of our vets called me today, asking if we can help this Myanmar lady out.  She is a cat-lover and has been taking in strays from the street and looking after them at home.  She also gets all of them spayed and neutered.

Apparently the neighbours sent in complaints against her and sometime last week, the local council RAIDED her house and gave her until yesterday to get rid of ALL the cats.  (I never know they even do this to cats, I thought it was only dogs.)

The lady has decided to release all her adult cats behind a restaurant where they would fend for themselves.  All have been spayed and neutered. She was at her wits’ end and she thought she would even release this litter of 6 one-and-a-half month old kittens (and their mum). But the vet feels they are too young to be released.  So he called me.

We’d really like to help these six kittens in fostering them and looking for adopters.

According to the vet, due to poor nutrition, all of them are down with diarrhoea right now, but it is nothing serious and good nutrition (boiled chicken breastmeat or ID) should be able to take care of this.

We are looking for fosterers and adopters.  If you can help, please contact me at 012-6935870.

They are all up for fostering and adoption, esp in view of the Chinese New Year holidays.  Please help, if you can.
You don’t have to take all six.  We can share out the workload.  It might be good to take two so that they have each other for warmth and company.

Time to call the lawyers – Councils have no right to raid private homes nor to demand to enter someone's home. Local by-laws on animals do not apply to cats either. Contact MDDB – I think they have a young lawyer who is raring to have a go at the Councils for their mistreatment of animals.
