I guess it takes all kinds to make the world.
A lady whose name shall remain anonymous (to protect her identity) called me last week and said she would like to use our spay-neuter services for three female stray dogs whom she is feeding.
I said ok, and plans were made for an appointment today at our panel vet.
When I went in to check on the dogs this afternoon, the vet informed me that the lady had “kidnapped” the dogs! Earlier on, I had rung the clinic and was told that the lady had done something very “unusual” to the dogs.
Here’s what she had done: All three dogs were muzzled (with the proper store-bought muzzles), but what we could not see was that the lady had taped the mouths of all the three dogs with masking tape. Luckily the vet and his assistants observed that one of the dogs was breathing very heavily. The muzzle was removed immediately and horrors…the mouth was tightly taped and the dog was having breathing difficulty, and could have died.
I normally would give people the benefit of the doubt before jumping to conclusions, so I called one of the ladies (two of them had brought in the dogs), and told her how dangerous it was to tape the mouths of the dogs, and how it can lead to their deaths. From her response, it was a case of ignorance.
The vet said even the dogs’ legs were tied up. The lady said when they brought the three dogs into the car, they all started fighting, hence, they had to resort to “kidnapping” means to restrain them.
A case of ignorance, I guess. All three dogs are alright and doing well now. Saved…from near-death!
I have told them they must never do such things again, and if need be, bring the dogs in one by one.
Here are the photos of the “kidnappees”:

If the dogs were muzzled and even had their mouths taped, how could they have been fighting? One even had difficulty breathing.
If they were fighting, how did the ladies manage to restrain them long enough to tie their legs?
I think there is something fishy those ladies aren't telling you.
The story is this: They were not muzzled nor taped nor tied up initially. Because they started fighting, hence, they were restrained in that way.
I think they are someone's house dogs (pets) but took advantage of AnimalCare's off free spay/neuter for strays.
They tied up the dogs so as to give a false impression that they dogs were so difficult to handle (home pets are normally tame) and hence the rough treatment. No caregiver of strays ever have to resort to such amateur actions.
This is a con job, KY, out for free $$ from AnimalCare meant for the suffering disadvantaged strays. Shame on such people!
Thanks for everyone's thoughts, but I prefer not to think the worst of people. If others are dishonest, that's their karma, not mine. At the end of the day, the dogs have benefited from the spaying. I have already done my part in advising them not to tape the mouths and tie up the limbs of the dogs.
It is not wrong to think the worst of people (you need to recognise things for what they are) when they are actually being the worst kind (some to the extent of hurting, injuring or maiming you), otherwise you are going to get conned again … or maybe get hurt real bad one day.
Sun Tzu says it is vital to know your enemy (it does not mean that if you are a good person you do not have enemies, even the Prophet had enemies out to kill him!).
You need wisdom and prudence to survive in this hard and tough world. A good heart is not enough, a good well-used brain is a necessity.
There is a book called "Thick Face, Black Heart".
You need to recognise and acknowledge a snake for what it really is when you see one and not think and treat it like a puppy or kitten. A snake is a snake and a viper is a viper.
Life is actually a continuous lesson to make us shape and mould us into better persons and if we do not learn it the first time, it will happen again and again, each time with a higher cost to us. Sometimes it may even cost someone's life.
The animal kingdom is indeed a harsh one. The animal learns its lesson the first time. Otherwise, almost always, it pays dearly for it with its own life!
Thank you very much for your sharing your wisdom. Like I said, it takes all kinds to make the world.
Dear Anonymous, Like Dr Chan says, it takes all kinds to make the world. You choose to view the world with a presumptious and suspicious eye. She doesn't, because she has actually spoken to those ladies and she feels they had acted out of ignorance. As for being "conned", just who has been conned here? AnimalCare provides for the animals, and three dogs have been spayed, thousands of unwanted births prevented. So, WHO has been conned?
Hi all,
Everyone is entitled to their opinions after digesting information, so let us agree to allow and accept disagreements, kay?
To me, the act of double muzzling the dogs to near death and tying up of their legs is simply hilarious, genuine story or not …. thank God there were no casualties …. hahahhahahaaa!!!
I agree with Pa Cat .. 🙂
Kindness is what is lacking in this real world, some "not-so-nice ones" will take advantage, but at the end of the day, it is all for the animals .. 🙂
Yes, unfortunately many "not-poor" and noticeably comfortably-off people can spend lots of $$ on themselves but are extremely reluctant to pay to neuter their own pets or pay for their medical needs. They actually have the capacity to unashamedly dip their fingers into the handicapped beggar's bowl to snatch the poor guy's miserable portion. And the poor, poor strays continue to end up hungry and miserable! Sigh!
If any fat fingers try dip into my beggar bowl for my strays, I would certainly give him/her a good feel of my strays' miserable bowl on his/her head because my strays cannot do that! They don't even have a voice!
Hahahahhaaaaa!!!!
