Socks has been up for adoption for MONTHS now, and Terry was sometimes at his wit’s end. It also did not help that Socks had, well….”socks” – black limbs with white “socks”. Some superstitious Chinese people, I was told, do not quite like this combination of colours on the limbs.
But finally…thanks to Wani of MDDB, who recommended this couple to take Socks, the adoption went through!
Here’s Terry’s updates:
Here is Sock’s adoption picture. The lady is Lavina. She and her husband decided to adopt Socks to complete her household which already has another female dog. They both come from Seremban and wanted to take Sock’s home today itself. Of course, Socks agreed to go and so they went back to her new home. They were a bit worried about Sock’s biting so I assured them that dogs bite under three conditions:-
1) When you BEAT them
2) When threatened (usually accompanied by growls or teeth before the bite)
3) Rabies (not applicable since it’s apparently extinct in Malaysia)
They told me their kids would probably play with Socks and were afraid if she might snap. After a few more questions, including dispelling myths about dog care, they were on their way home with Socks.
May Socks be well and happy.

One response to “Socks is FINALLY adopted!”
So happy for Socks. I love black and white dogs – there is something so dramatic about them visually. I would have adopted her (and all the others who come across this blog) but I already have more dogs than I can cope with.
Sad that in this day and age, there are still people who are scared by baseless superstition. Thanks havens for Lavina and her family.
