I have sad news. Julea passed away this morning.
We are so very sorry to hear this and we offer our deepest condolences to Ben and Adele.
To Ben and Adele: Please take comfort in knowing that some relationships are meant to be short. Ebony and Julea’s relationships with both of you were perhaps meant to be short, but all four of you were meant to connect, even if it was only for a short period. Thank you very much for giving Julea and Ebony so much love and care during their short period on earth. Their relationship with you may have been short, but it was filled with so much love. That makes it special and meaningful, and worthwhile.
It is always a great challenge bringing home young puppies, what more when Julea and Ebony were rescued from the pound. They probably already had some disease festering in them. A vet was just telling me a few days ago that even pedigree puppies die from stress of going to a new home after a few weeks – he has seen many cases of this happening.
Ben and Adele had been so kind to give Julea and Ebony a loving home, despite knowing that they had come from less-than-ideal conditions, ie. the pound.
We are very thankful to Ben and Adele.
May Julea reunite with Ebony in a much better place now.
This is from Ben:
We are very sorry to inform you that Julea passed away this morning. As per my earlier email to you 2 days back, wed nite I fed her with Cesar. She ate about a thumb size of it. Thursday morning, I fed her again with Cesar. She ate a bit, then rejected the rest. Last nite, I fed her with cesar, pedigree, ID, all rejected. Then I just force fed her with milk added with Glucolin. I forced about 25 to 30 ml of milk + glucolin with a syringe.
I got up at 7:30am today and found she is motionless. Must have passed away during the nite.
I am very sorry I disappointed you as both the puppies I adopted back passed away. (It is nobody’s fault, Ben. We can only do our best, and leave the rest to destiny. Please do not blame yourself. I know you have done your best for them.) My wife is so sad with Julea’s passing that she cried all the way to work. She is extremely attached to Julea. Julea is buried next to Ebony in the space opposite my house. Since we do not have use for the cage, we have decided to give it back to you or anyone who is in need. We are too heart broken to adopt any more puppies for the time being. Just cannot bear with the loss of 2 puppies within such a short time.
I have attached some of the pics of Ebony & Julea taken during the short but happier times. Hope you will post it in memory of our beloved puppies.

Since Ebony went, Julea had constantly been on my mind, wondering how the little baby is doing. Losing Ebony must have taken its toll on little Julea too, imagine, first losing your Mommy at such a tender age, going through your young life at a pound of all places (!) …
Ben and Adele, remember you have given both pups a lot of love in that short time, cherish the precious moments, you have done good, much good … it is recorded in Heaven.
And Ebony and Julea are waiting for both of you at the Gates of Heaven … there will be much rejoicing!
Take care, all! God bless you.

Since last week, Julea had constantly been on my mind. In fact this morning, I thought much about her. And when I saw yet another butterfly at around noon, I had actually wondered "who" it was this time! It had been a golden brown butterfly with something like dark chequered pattern. And I actually almost never see butterflies at other times. Farewell, our little one …

My deepest sympathy to Ben and Adele that their act of kindness to Julea and Ebony should end so sadly.
Ben and Adele, I hope you will both gain some comfort in the knowledge that you gave love and protection to two beings that were truly in need. Unfortunately you have not been able to reap the benefit of that kindness with the years of love, affection and companionship that should have come with your relationship with Julea and Ebony. I hope that you will recover from the loss and feel ready to share your love again with another needy animal.
All the best wishes to you both.
