At LONG last!!
I don’t know what worked, but something worked…. Here’s Butter, after this morning’s breakfast….. Caught in action! I have been praying and longing to see this for the last 5 days. Firm stools…finally! Last night, he had two meals with pumpkin, and this morning’s breakfast, I gave him one teaspoon of pumpkin with half a…

Pumpkin for Butter
I decided to try pumpkin for Butter’s diarrhoea this evening. Here’s Butter’s diet. There’s the golden-yellow steamed mashed pumpkin, the probiotics, his AD, and the oral rehydration salt. Yes, Butter….you’ll have to eat this pumpkin now. But of course I did not give him that much. I only added a tiny bit to his AD…

Pumpkin and yoghurt for combatting diarrhoea in kittens
A friend sent me this: http://homeremedyqueen.com/cat-kitten-care-home-remedies-for-diarrhea-in-cats? It says pumpkin and yoghurt (probiotics) may be able to alleviate diarrhoea in cats and kittens. But note that the vet in the video says we should always consult the vet before trying any home remedies. So after consulting two vets, I decided to try probiotics today. I got a bottle…

Butter, as of this morning
I continued with the small amounts of AD through the night, and although Butter still has diarrhoea, it doesn’t shoot out right after a meal, and the diarrhoea isn’t that watery anymore. I suppose (and hope) that this is a small improvement. He is still active. He walks around the room and the kitchen, and can…

Butter’s updates
I wish I had better news to report, but Butter is having diarrhoea again. This must be a really stubborn and deadly bug we are up against. I’m at my wit’s end, really, not knowing exactly what to do now. I think the diarrhoea can be controlled if he only takes very small amounts of…

The miracle of rehydration salts – Butter perks up!
By late evening yesterday, I thought I was going to witness the nightmare of seeing Butter go down. In just a matter of hours, Butter had gone down consirably, losing weight and losing condition. Previously, I had only heard about how fast tiny kittens deteriorate, but have never really seen it happening until Jelly’s case. …

Latest photos of Xiao Li and Teddybear in their new home
Here are the latest photos for today. It shows Xiao Li and and Teddy in the indoor garden of their new home, exploring the place: Is that me? Peek-a-boo! Food!! Looking for Teddybear? Here’s Teddybear… Their classic romps. I’m glad they have both settled down and are playing. My house is now so quiet without…

It never rains…it pours
Looks like my worst nightmare isn’t over with Jelly’s passing. Peanut and Butter now both don’t want to eat their ID. I thought they were fed-up with the ID, so I decided to give them some boiled chicken, which is very “simple and digestible” food, according to the vet. Peanut threw up the food after…

Xiao Li and Teddybear adopted
It would have to come sooner or later…the adoption of Xiao Li and Teddybear. Some time last week, Xiao Li and Teddybear had started going out to the porch, and I knew it was time for them to go to their new home where it would be safer than my linked house which faces a dangerous…

Butter is retaining his food…so far
It’s strange, but the moment Jelly passed away, Butter seemed to be on the road to recovery. If I were superstitious, I might just say Jelly “made way for her brother to recover”. Or, perhaps it was just a case of timing and coincidence. Butter has so far retained his food for the last three…

Jelly succumbs to the worms
Jelly just passed away about an hour ago. I am devastated but it is not totally unexpected. Her body was not able to fight off the worms and the infection. Since Thursday, she was already on an antibiotic, specially for the gut. She was also dewormed. The surprising thing is that her appetite was good,…

Now, it’s Butter’s turn…
Butter has been shooting diarrhoea today. I took him to the vet just now and although Butter is still active, it doesn’t look too good for him. The only way to stop the diarrhoea is total gut rest (the vet gave him some chicken, which is already very plain and simple food, but even that…
