Clariss – a total miracle…for now

If you remember, Mas brought in a severely injured cat yesterday, to our panel vet.  The cat was knocked down by a fast car and was bleeding very profusely from the head.  Initial examination revealed a cracked skull, broken jaw and internal haemorrhaging. 

I saw her yesterday lying in a pool of blood, and I was really very worried for her. 

As it was a very critical emergency, I assured Mas we will sponsor the initial estimate of RM800 for treatment.  

The whole of yesterday, I checked in on the cat by phone.  I was at the clinic after work, but surgery was going on, so I could not see her.  

By evening, I called and was told she was alive and hanging on. 

This morning, I was at the vet’s when it opened, and was relieved to hear that Clariss (that’s her name) was in a reasonable condition.

Clariss’ bleeding has stopped for now, but her condition is not quite stable yet.  She is still on drips.  There is a crack in her skull, right down the middle, and if it cracks open again, she will bleed.  Her jaw is still broken, but she needs two days of stabilising before any further procedure can be done.  For now, the vets will hand-feed her.  Her lower jaw juts out now, and she may have a problem in biting.
According to the vet, Clariss has a long way to go.  But the prognosis isn’t all bad.  She stands as chance to recover. 
I am quite amazed at what the vet has done.  We are now all praying very hard that Clariss will see this through. 
Please spare a kind thought for this feisty cat, and please send her positive healing energy.
