Animals are friends, not food

While we all do our best in saving the stray cats and dogs on the street through rescue work or by getting them spayed and neutered, let’s also spare a thought for the chickens, cows, goats, pigs, fish and other animals who are bred to be slaughtered and eventually end up as food on our table.

If every animal-lover were to conscientiously reduce the amount of meat they eat (or better still, go veggie), many of these innocent lives can be saved.

Click on any of the counters below, and take a look at the number of animals that are slaughtered every day.  We can make a difference and save some lives even if we were to just reduce the amount of meat we eat.

Every person who makes the effort to stop eating animals saves about 100 innocent lives a year.

Counter of Animals Killed for Meat

Last year, we approximately 6.8 billion humans ate about 60 billion land animals and probably more marine animals. The enormity of this annual toll is now captured in an iphone app –
