Notification of Event : Memorandum of Protest on Serdang Kitten Killer

Animal rights groups Malaysian Animal Welfare Society & PETPOSITIVE, together with Lawyers for Liberty and others are handing over memorandum of protest to Democratic Action Party’s Secretary-General YAB Lim Guan Eng over the press conference of self-confessed kitten killer on Sunday, March 6, 2011 by 2 DAP elected representatives.
They are demanding an apology from DAP ‘s assemblyman Ean Yong Hian Wah and Serdang Member of Parliament Teo Nie Ching for defending the kitten killer instead of handing her over to the police to be arrested and investigated.
Animal welfare groups are particularly outraged by Yong’s statement that “it was only a cat.” All concerned citizens are invited to join in the protest which will take place this Saturday. Details are as follows:

ONLY a cat! Yes, ONLY a cold blooded murder! NOTHING wrong with a cold blooded killing … oh yeah, teach all that to your children. Dump your old folks into the streets later when they are no longer of any use to you too … yeah …. and may you be dumped by your own children!
I think this has been politicized by certain quarters, though I'm don't agree how the MPs' use of words.
Today, it's "only a cat." When this young woman finds herself in a tough emotional spot in the future, might she not take out her anguish on her children?
In a perfect world, a gifted teacher would help her find healthy and harmless ways to deal with her emotional pain. In the meantime, criminal prosecution should get the message across that venting one's own rage on other beings is unacceptable. Even if that other being is "only a cat." 🙁
Some groups like MDDB have decided not to be involved in this protest as it appears to be politically-motivated by some elements connected to certain politicians.
MDDB has posted its reasons why it will not be involved with this protest on their blog.
While we animal lovers share our concerns for the killing of the cats, some parties seem to be using the whole issue to glorify and promote themselves with a political agenda.
Yes, thank you for all the comments. MDDB informed me as well after they saw the posting. I've posted it as a public announcement. I will leave it to each individual to do what they feel is "needful" and correct.
