Cinderella was one of the dogs at the dreadful Klang Dog Pound when we did our rescue in Dec 2009. I could not take Cinderella out on the day of the rescue because she had a nasty-looking facial injury and the sanctuary in Bentong which had agreed to house all the dogs had left strict instructions that I could not bring any diseased dogs. The vets who came with us to examine the dogs said Cinderella could not be taken.
But I saw something in her eyes that really moved me – she was asking to be rescued. I left the pound that morning (with 36 dogs in the lorry headed for Bentong) with an extremely heavy heart. That night, I published her photo in my posting and MDDB’s Wani said she would take over Cinderella.

BRAVO! I have to admit, I remember finding it difficult to look at this dog's face when you first rescued her. Frankly it just looked like a mass of raw meat, and I imagine the pain was unspeakable. But look at her now! Fully recovered, furry-faced (and quite pretty, I might add), and — I hope — looking at enough years ahead of her to forget the past pain. Kudos to you, KY, and her adopter!
My heartful thanks to the adopter.
