The one that got away!

In the last few days, I was helping a lady cope with a new family of cats who had migrated to her house – it’s a father, mother with three kittens in tow.

We were communicating by email and I was telling her what to do as this was her first time dealing with cats.  She was keen to help, but had a slight phobia of animals. 

To cut a long story short, I lent her a cage and thought we could get the father-cat neutered first since the mother was still breast-feeding the kittens. 

Last night, she managed to get the father-cat into the cage but had mistakenly fed him breakfast this morning. 

Anyway, an appointment at the vet’s was made for this evening. 

Unfortunately, as her husband was loading the cage (with the cat) into the car, the father-cat escaped! 

Oh well…we’ll just have to try to catch him again.

Meanwhile, the mother-cat seemed to have lost her three kittens, according to this lady.  I don’t know what happened.  The mother-cat had been bringing her kittens to her house every day, and suddenly, they were all gone.  Apparently, the mother-cat is now very depressed. 

Poor mum….

And this lady had just got her colleague to agree to adopt all the kittens, too. 

Sigh….

This is the plight of stray cats.
