Recommended age for spay-neuter

The following is the recommended age for spay-neuter by our vets, especially for animals that would be returned to the colony:

Female cats  – 5 months
Male cats  –  6 months (as long as both testicles are down)

Female dogs – 5 months
Male dogs – 6 months (as long as both testicles are down)

If the male animal is to be adopted, it is advisable to wait until the animal is at least 8 months old.

However, some vets are also able to spay-neuter younger animals, depending on the management of the animals (for eg. urgency to return to colony, prevention of pregnancy, etc.)  Klinik Kembiri can do the operation at a much younger age.  They are the specialists when it comes to spaying-neutering.

Please note that we do NOT sponsor the spaying of pregnant female animals.

Just a suggestion. Why not all the animal lovers (who can afford more time and cash) adopt another stray without minding the "little bit" inconvenience caused.

Just imagine, if 50 families adopt 50 strays, that would be good enough for a start, isn't it?
