And THIS…is FIRST CLASS, the coast guards of Japan

Remember the youtube I posted on the rescue of the tsunami dog in Japan?

They even reunited the dog with his owner!!

There must be something about the Japanese culture that makes them such wonderfully-caring people.  What did they do right that we did wrong?  Let’s learn, folks.

I would go down on my knees and bow to the Japanese coast guards who went out of their way to do this for the dog and his owner.  It’s all about values that are so deeply engrained in them since young, isn’t it?

Watch the youtubes, everyone!  And send the links to your local politicians and tell them THIS is what we want!  If they don’t know, then LEARN!

We want a more caring society (yes, we want a “masyarakat penyayang” (but they must “sayang” all, not just a selected few).

Many thanks to the anonymous reader who sent me the updates and the links.  You’ve really made my day!

This is indeed a wonderful slot to read. Tears welled up my eyes upon reading thru.

Imagined what the dog went through when he was drifting alone at sea. How he must missed his master! I like to think that the thought of being reunited with his master was what kept him going.

  3. I know exactly what you mean, Farah. Breaks my heart too…thinking of what he must be feeling when he was lost at sea. But he's been rescued and is reunited now….so we should be happy.

It is so wonderful and touching to see such compassion and devotion among them during times like this. I have nothing but utter respect for the Japanese.

  5. i have seen malaysians rescuing animals too..
    firefighters,RELA,police..
maybe the mass media did not emphasize much on them due to lack of the "news value"

many politicians have pets too but yes, maybe they are preoccupied with politics =)
