Cocker was rescued by Jovi sometime last week. She’s obviously a lost or abandoned pet, but so far, no one has come forward to claim her.
So, Jovi decided to have her spayed first before putting her up for adoption.
The appointment was supposed to be yesterday, but the vet was very short-handed.
It was only done today.
Cocker waiting for the operation.
The vet called me at about 2pm. Apparently, he had to spend half an hour looking for the uterus. There was none.
Cocker had already been spayed. She’s obviously someone’s pet.
Poor Cocker and poor vet.
Today’s spaying (or rather, the “attempted” spaying) is sponsored from our funds.
Jovi had no way of knowing that Cocker had been spayed and neither did the vet as he didn’t have ultra-sound facilities.
Lesson learnt – we may have to go to a vet with ultra-sound facilities should there be another rescued “branded” dog.
Ear-clipping for female pets?

That is why I shared with you the comment some time ago about my vet observing carefully while doing the shaving of the abdomen to check whether there is any faint line from a previous neuter operation before blindly proceeding to cut up the animal. This is very, very important if you sent a rescue animal (not your animal) to be spayed/neutered.
Our vet checked and could not find any faint line. If you know of any vet who can definitely detect this faint line, could you please write to me with the contact details? Thank you!
in my opinion, ear-clipping to indicate spaying done is the way to go =)
