Very sad news (Rascal)

Punitha called today to say she has spoken to the cleaners and the dead cat found was Rascal.  This was based on the description of the collar and markings on the cat.

Sigh….

I’m so sad to hear this, but we must move on and learn a lesson from this and be wiser after this.

This is the full story of what happened, it’s written by Punitha:

May Rascal be in a happier existence now.

I’m “glad” I believe in immediate rebirth.  The suffering is over, we should not hang on to the pain.  We must learn the lesson now and move on with more wisdom.

I am so sorry to hear about Rascal. He was such a handsome cat.

Whenever you are now, Rascal, may you find peace and happiness.

Dear, dear Punitha, please take time to grief for poor Rascal. Pjud will not grief, no pain to hang on to, no love or bond in the first place … Rascal was just a commodity to be replaced because the appeal of novelty had worn off … so fast even (imagine, taking in a new cat one day and letting him loose immediately without caging him for a week or so to familiarise with the environment and to stake claim on the apartment as his new home … 12 floors above ground level pulak tu!).

Dear Punitha, my heart grieves with you, for I know how it feels. Rascal stuck in my mind when I first read about him and at that time, the thought in my mind was Rascal telephatically telling me, "I am not naughty or mischievious, not a rascal at all, just that humans do not understand me!"

On hindsight now, I think, "Yes, my boy, how sadly true!"

And I wish I had acted upon my uneasy heart and instinct that day, that although I am already very, very full of cats, I should take in Rascal, lest he get into any danger caused by some humans' lack of understanding of his nature as a cat. Seems there had been a desperate cry for help from poor Rascal that I somehow failed to respond to …

Yes, I have always believed cats to be special creature and are telepathic, that is why the Egyptians long ago took to worshipping them.

Rascal, we are very sorry to have failed you, we truly love you and will always will ….

Huh, one look at PJUD's postings and the way he writes you know this is a MAIN-MAIN irresponsible guy! What, he says he will feed Rascal Royal Canin? PJUD does not even have the means to feed himself well, goes around asking for free guinea pigs and actually fell of his chair when someone asked him what is his budget. Also giving ample evidence that he knows next to nothing about animals (including cat and cat food) and talks like one of those "mat …." who lepak around and talk lots of rot!

We must learn to read people better in vetting adopters. Hard, yes, but learn we must, no matter how hard. Rascal is one costly boy.

Yes, Anonymous, to PJUD Rascal is easy come, easy go … free of charge, no burn in his wallet at all, no cost, no price to pay, no risk whatsoever ….. "just a cat", did I hear someone say? hmmmmpffff!!!! 🙁

Those not serious in bringing up animals like their own kids, please leave them alone.

Am so sorry Punitha, I cant help crying for Rascal. Why his life has ended up like these?

I can never ever forgive the stupid so-called adopter. I think he just seeks attention by adopting for name-sake. When he cant even take care of a little cat, why the hell he wants to adopt him?

He will definitely pay for his negligence. My heart is really grieving for lovely Rascal.

    Hi Punitha,
Some idiots don't give a damn abt pets. They think it's so easy to replace them since there are surplus in the country. These people have no feelings while those with a bond just cannot take their pet's sufferings.
Punitha please do not blame yourself for choosing this devil who is oblivious abt what happened to Rascal. You DEFINITELY would not have chosen this nut if you knew what was going to happen to the poor cat. This is adoption gone awry? What to do? It had happened to me too: gave a pretty kitten to an idiot who told me the next day that it had drowned in his bath tub. How to differentiate a responsible adopter from a heartless demon. Just impossible.
Newcomers should always be kept enclosed for 1-2 weeks b4 being let out and may be lesson learnt from here, don't give pets (esp cats) to high rise apartment dwellers. RIP Rascal

I had once given an adult cat to a friend who lives in the 4th floor of an apartment. This girl ensured that all her windows were shut with slight opening and her front door grille was enforced with a plastic wire net. Just did not stop there, she kept carrying the cat to the balcony to show her that she is high up in the sky. It's been 6 years and no accidents. She has four cats now. All trained to use the stairs.
How on earth will a cat know it's on the 12th floor if the owner does not teach the cat. Obviously cats cannot get used to the new environment immediately, not even homo sapiens. Obviously the cat would have tried to wander out or escape from this saitan through the window without knowing the height where it was. Barbarian w'out brains!
