Agnes and Sumitra came a-visiting two days ago and also to collect their tshirts. We got talking about nasty animal-hating neighbours and how to protect our cats from the likes of them.
Agnes told me about these “purfect” cat-fences and she’s already installed it in her house. I had heard about deer fencing but never cat fencing, those who don’t know what is deer fencing, it’s just as it sounds, a fence to keep deer out. The unique thing about the cat fence however is that it is meant to keep the critters inside.
Later, she sent photos of them and I must say, it’s absolutely ingenius! Take a look below.
Agnes said it is so simple to make and any contractor would be able to do it.

It is the same as snake fencing to keep OUT snakes. The top is reversed so that the snakes fall back outside as it slithers up and cannot go over.
but at the same time, your cats can't climb in and out freely right?
i am so divided over this issue, would keeping my cats in the house refrained them from being fully happy?
If this were a beautiful world with humans who live harmoniously with animals, there would be no need for such cat-fences. These fences are only a last resort if our neighbours cannot tolerate our animals and might do harm to them. It is also useful for people how live on busy roads with fast vehicles. Anyhow, it's not keeping the cat confined in the house, but they have a garden to roam and play in. It beats keeping them in cages for their own safety.
Agree, Dr. C, not that we have a better choice. Better safe than dead, right?
This is a great idea for compounded houses. They can roam around without any danger either farom traffic or "so-called Human".
In my 3 roomed flats, I have no choice but to put them in a big cage (my airwell converted into a "mini zoo") and release them on & off to roam inside my house and ransack my whole hall & kitchen.
