What heart-warming photos from a truly warm-hearted cat rescuer from Sarawak, Jurina Johan. Her cats are all rescued. Some were abandoned by their previous owners.
Here’s her story:
Hi Dr.Chan,
I read your posting about tipping the ears of cats that had been spayed, and I agree wholeheartedly. I can’t imagine the stress and pain cats endure being opened up again but all for nothing. This is necessary for the cats’ sake, in my humble opinion.
Anyway, I would like to show you pictures of my sayangs – they came to my house when I started feeding 1 cat (the Boss). They bring such joy to my life, I can’t imagine living without them.
The white and black one is the Boss. He is a bit sombong and doesn’t like to be handled much. He comes home only to get food.
The acrobatic and tail-less one is Combat. I just want to kiss him all day!
That is Jodi, after being spayed. She is so regal now, always looking down on others 🙂
Introducing Glam, she’s some sort of adik angkat a.k.a girlfriend of Combat. They are really besties!
Mummy besar with the last of her kitties (Jodi and Combat), I got her spayed just before she was in the heat. She wanders away from home now, and comes back only to eat.
Last but not least, mummy kecik n 3 kitties. They are to be adopted soon by friends of a friend and I will get her spayed soon after. I am really not sure about giving the kitties away, I cross my fingers and hope it’s for the best.
I know there are only 9 of them, so I really can’t imagine how Meiji and other people like you do it. I pray that all people like you, Meiji, the rescuers and the adopters be healthy and well and I know cats and dogs thank you! People who don’t get what you are doing, well, I’d say- ignore them. There isn’t a thing we can do that makes everybody happy, and at the end of the day, it is ourselves whom we need to answer to. As long as we ourselves know what we do, that’s what that matters. I’ve learned this much, and I hope I will have the courage as you do!
Love and prayers,
Jurina and anak2.
Hi Jurina,
Thank you for sharing your lovely photos and the stories. By the way, I only have 6 rescued cats with me now. Can’t take in anymore because of the animal-hating neighbour at the back. We can only do what we can….
Love,
kahyein

Glad to meet you Jurina,
I am a rescuer too and have 21 (Ronnie & Inkie passed away last month). With the help of Dr Chan Kah Yein, I got more than 10 of my cats neutered & Seenu treated for gum infection thru Acupuncturist, Dr Suzanne Bridda. Thanks to both of them.
My request to you is, please make sure you give your babies (if you need to ONLY) to the correct adopter and keep checking on them. Lets pray that no mishap befalls any other babies anymore. Rascal had lost his precious life.
Hi Devi Narayanan,
I hear you, it is just too sad what happened to Rascal (God bless his soul), and I intend to do just that-check on the babies always. They'll still be my babies even if they are adopted. Thanks Devi for the reminder, I really appreciate it..
