After about one week of failing to find adopters, Devakie has finally found a shelter in Juru (on the mainland) that is willing to take in these 12 abandoned dogs.

This shelter is run by a lady (alone) and she needs financial help to fence up an area to prevent fighting amongst her present dogs and these 12 new ones.
The cost of the fencing is not known yet and will update once there is an estimate from Devakie. Bro Jeen has offered his lorry in Penang for the transportation of the 12 dogs from Penang island to Juru. Thank you, Jeen!
These dogs were left behind by their owners when they moved as the housing area is now being evacuated to make way for development. Devakie has been supplying food to the villagers and they have been feeding the dogs. The villagers are also more than willing to help catch these dogs. We have offered to help Devakie in the spaying-neutering of these dogs except for the pregnant females. Those will be done after they have given birth.

I visited the dogs again yesterday with a lady, Angelina to discuss on the spaying aspect. Glad to see none of the female dogs are pregnant and all are below 12 months except for 1 grumpy small sized dog which is about 2-3 years old but not pregnant at the moment. One pregnant female and her puppies had died after being bitten by a cobra while giving birth. There is one old papa dog (3-4 yrs), another 2 yrs and the rest below 1yr. One was shot dead 3-4 weeks ago by the city council and the rest were spared their lives when the residents begged them not to do so. Hopefully Angelina, Huey (PASS member introduced by Dr.Chan) and me can transport the females first to the state vet next week. I hope they don't snap us as we are not their owners. They seem very very ok to be touched, patted, hugged and fed of course. Some of them even come nibbling at your pants.
Ms Jong (shelter owner in Juru) will have to discuss with the contractor on the costings to fence up the area and to have a roof over them for shelter during rain or shine. I have to thank you Dr. Chan for all these progress made: to be frank, nothing would have moved if i did not come across your blog. God bless you. After Huey posted up my plight in the PASS facebook i came across this gentleman's name Chuah and his friend Feng Yin (whom i've not met)who both helped to expose Ms Jong's shelter and coaxed her to accommodate the dogs. They both too have been of great help. Will keep the case updated.
