  • Absolutely adorable kittens for adoption (from Rani)

Rani must have rescued countless stray kittens, cats, puppies and dogs all these years.  I was at the clinic this morning and she brought four kittens for adoption.  All rescued. Here’s the first one. Cute and confident. This is an Indy look-alike. This Calico is a real beauty and extremely friendly.  Rani says she was…

  • Dog spayed (Yap Siew Hwa’s)

Mrs Lim contacted me about 2-3 months ago about getting this female dog whom she’s been feeding spayed. The dog was sent to our panel vet and found to be pregnant so we had to delay the spaying. Last week she called to say the dog had already delivered and is ready to be spayed now.…

  • Aini and her cats

Aini is a cat-rescuer from USJ.  She contacted me last week to ask if we could help with the spaying of the female stray cats under her care.  I told her we would help get her cats spayed in batches of two per day.  This is done so that it would not tax on our panel…

  • The 3:3:3:1 ratio in helping animals

Here’s sharing something else that I’ve learnt recently, which I think, makes sense and might be useful for us to consider. Many rescuers have their own thoughts and beliefs about how best to help animals.  I think the opinion below, which I learnt from a vet, makes a lot of sense. There is this 3:3:3:1…

  • Local soaps that are NOT tested on animals

You know how I’ve often talked about using products that are not tested on animals? Well, I was Amy Lim’s shop, Subang Pet Products in SS18 yesterday, and she told me about this line of products developed by her brother.  None of the products is tested on animals. For those who are interested in supporting our…

  • Of miracle drugs for humans and animals

Thought it might be useful to share this with all of you.  I learnt this from a vet today. Vets, being people of science, normally prefer to adhere to research-tested medicines.  However, currently, there is a whole industry of “miracle drugs”, for humans as well as animals and it is practically revolutionising the whole world…

  • Dog at Tropicana Mall (further updates)

I was told that the rescue team did not manage to catch the injured dog, but instead, rescued a mixed labrador and a little kitten. Well, at least two other animals benefited from this rescue mission.  Hopefully the dog is okay and safe.

  • Two more female cats spayed

Yesterday, Nandhini brought two female cats whom she looks after in her alley to be spayed under our sponsorship. Both cats were spayed today and Nandhini has taken them home now.  She’s going to pamper them with canned food for a few days! Two females spayed, HUNDREDS of unwanted births and unnecessary suffering prevented. CNRM…

  • From a teacher at Tenby International

A teacher from Tenby International, Mrs Ching, wrote to me recently to request for my books for her students. Here’s an excerpt from her email to me: I noticed pin drop silence in my class this morning during registration, when I looked up from the register, I realised that most of them were reading your…

  • Horsey, restitched and spayed, and doing very well!

Horsey has been recovering very well under the loving care of Lydia.  She’s so well that she is already running around on all threes, to the extent of trying to escape through the drain! Horsey bit off her stitches two days ago, so Lydia sent her back for restitching and at the same time, the…

Ref: http://animalcare.my/2011/02/dr-veeranoot-to-rescue.html Sometime back, Dr Veeranoot rescued a black pregnant cat from Section 17.  The kind doctor fostered the cat until she delivered her 6 kittens in her home.  For all the stories, please do a word search on “Kwanjit’.    Kwanjit is done nursing her babies now and it’s time to get her spayed. So, Dr Veeranoot…
