Fosterer required urgently for cat with mange (Jessy Lian)

21st June – Jessy wrote to say the poor cat passed away this morning.  May she be in a better existence now.

This is a request from Jessy Lian (jessylian@yahoo.com)

Dear Dr Chan,

Kindly refer to the attach file for the photo of the cat (now named Happy).

Me, Venus & Nelson (Venus’s boyfriend) send the cat to the vet for her mange treatment.

According to the Doctor:-

~ Happy is estimate to be around 2-3 mths old.
~ She’s very dehydrated & skinny.
~ Had diarrhea.
~ Her body temperature is kind of low.
~ She had mange on her head, ears & other parts of her body, but the most severe would be on her head & ears.
~ She can hardly open her eyes too. Doc clean her eyes & apply some gel onto her eyes.

At 1st, the Doctor refuse to let Happy boarding at the vet, but after some discussion he say can temporary boarding Happy in a separate cage, away from other boarding pets. Venus & Nelson couldn’t foster Happy cos they both have dogs at their home & had no friends that could help foster Happy. I also couldn’t foster Happy cos I have 5 cats under my care, and 1 of them was diagnosed with FeLV a month ago. Moreover, my mom doesn’t allow me to foster strays!

Venus live at Puchong & she will be on trip in 2 days, Nelson also has company trip/job posting or something. Nelson paid RM400 to the vet as the boarding fee for ‘as long as possible’. I live nearby, so I could visit Happy anytime (when I’m free).

I am most WILLING to transport her to wherever the fosterer is!  I just need volunteer to foster her & Nelson says he will bear all the charges for her medical fees and whatever cost to cure Happy.

P/S: The photo was taken from SPCA Facebook page. I forgot to bring my camera with me & my handphone has problem on taking photo recently, so NO photos from consultation at the vet.

Thanks for posting this on your blog, Dr.Chan!

Regards,
Jessy Lian

Please help Happy look for a fosterer.

  1. I just realize I had a typo. I wrote that the cat is 2-3 mths old, but I was meant to say that the cat is 2-3 YEARS old.

  2. Devi Narayanan

Poor thing! He looks so pathetic. Too bad he couldnt survive. If only he had been seen earlier, he would still have a chance to survive.
