Blackie goes back to his colony

Blackie is the terrorist in CP’s neighbourhood and has been reigning supreme over Manja, Didi and Mimi, the three cats already spayed-neutered under our sponsorship and are being managed by CP and her family.  Each time Blackie comes into CP’s compound (yes, he is THAT brave), it is always Manja (the oldest female) who will be protecting the home territory.  Then, there would be the raising of fur and war-cries….you know, the works.

Blackie was finally captured by using our cat-trap, much to CP’s dismay, because Blackie somersaulted inside the trap and really (literally) kicked up a ruckus, resulting in some minor injuries to his face.  CP says “no more” to using the trap.  It is just too traumatic for her.

Upon being sedated, it was discovered that Blackie is a cryptorchid (one testicle is inside the body), so surgery had to be conducted to neuter him…..well, completely.

Everything went well and CP collected him that evening.

Blackie on the way home, after the surgery.
Still a wee bit angry…

The vet had said that ideally, Blackie should be kept confined overnight since it was not a normal neuter but a minor surgery.  So, CP kept him confined, but the next morning, he had torn down the cloth and bitten off all the cloth fasteners to the doors.  We’re talking about a fierce little fellow here.  Also, another fellow-terrorist, codenamed “Nonsense” had apparently come to Blackie’s rescue.  Nonsense is next on CP’s “hit list’ (for neuter, that is).

CP gave Blackie a pep-talk before releasing him the next evening.

When she opened the cage, he did not want to go out!

Well, finally, he did!

Have a good life now, Blackie, and please don’t terrorise your feline friends anymore, okay?

Blackie’s surgery is sponsored from our funds.

We thank CP for her kind donation to our fund.  One good turn deserves another!
