As you all probably know, Klang has a stray dog problem, especially in the many factory areas. I’m told there could be hundreds of stray dogs roaming in each of these areas, some being fed by the staff and workers of the respective factories, if they are lucky. Some are subject to accidents from heavy vehicles and machinery.
It’s really sad. If anyone were to complain, the council would capture-and-kill. The only feasible way to help these dogs would be to help them keep a low profile (from the complainants and contracted dog-catchers), encourage the staff and workers to manage the colony as best they can, and help catch the dogs to be spayed-neutered so that breeding can be controlled. We all know that most of the sanctuaries are full and rehoming adult street dogs is next to impossible, unless there is affinity and lots of luck.
Winnie Low wrote to me a few days ago. Her father, Mr Low, works in one such factory and there are MANY dogs there. Both father and daughter love dogs and Mr Low feeds the dogs. He knows that the dogs need to be spayed-neutered.
We will sponsor the spay-neuter fee, but the missing link is: we need someone to help catch the dogs. For now, we are looking at the 4-5 dogs that Mr Low feeds every day.
The factory is located at North Port, Klang.

Since the town council are expert catchers, why don't you all tread gingerly and wisely to negotiate for them to catch the dogs but pass them on to you to neuter instead of bring back to kill? Pay them a little bit more than what they usually receive for each animal captured. Afterall, they do not care for the animal's life, they are just after the money (they only understand $$) so go negotiate quietly and strike a deal with these cold-hearted mercenaries just like any business deal, KY. In Malaysia, you can get anything with $$, even bringing in banned dogs …..

do you know any group in johore especially in Kulai, who is runing an animal shelter? there are alot of strays around my factory that need to be rescue. new pups are both almost every few months and they are neglected by their own mother and also risk of being run over by lorries that comes in and out of our premises. also there are people who dislikes dogs and will do them harm.
HOPE is a shelter in Johor. Please google for more information. But I hear they are full to the brim.
You can borrow traps from Penghilitan if you talk nicely to them. They even have traps for tigers, they showed me once, quite impressive. Make sure you clean and disinfect well to get rid of odor and diseases, and make sure you return them otherwise they will get into trouble with audit. The traps you use for the cats are a bit too small for bigger cats with very long tails. I have seen the trap door clamp down on the long tail, injuring the animals.
