CP came by yesterday to return one of my big cages. I had wanted to lend it to Wei Leng for Only-One.
Anyway, CP just got Little Missy spayed and Little Missy is looked after by the Filipino domestic helper, May.
May had a story to tell….(get ready to go “aww….” or maybe shed a tear or two).
Apparently, Little Missy, who had to be caged for her 3-4 day recovery period, missed her kittens so much. May tried, but the kittens refused to go into the cage (smart little ones). However, they have been frequenting and getting near the cage when nobody was around.
May noticed Little Missy pushing out her kibbles for her kittens to eat. She won’t eat up her kibbles, she would keep some for her kittens and since she could not get to them, she pushed them out of the cage for them to eat.
Aww…..(No.1).
Then, her kittens wanted to touch her but the cage separates them. So, Little Missy would put her tail out through the bars and the kittens would grab on to her tail and just hang on for comfort.
Aww….(No.2)
Touching?
I think May released Little Missy yesterday so that she can be reunited with her kittens. Her wound has healed very well.
The next step would be to get the kittens dewormed. But the kittens are just so elusive, they have yet to be caught.

Yes, that is the unconditional loving kindness shown by lots of mums to their offsprings.
I remember bringing some food to a shelter some time ago. In one cage, there was this mother dog and her puppies.
When I gave the food to the mother dog, she would not eat the food. Instead, she let her puppies eat them first. She would only eat the leftovers.
Mums are wonderful beings!!!
Put kitten kibbles, wet food and clean water right beside the mother cat's cage so that the kittens can feed and will stay beside the mother cat. It will also give them the chance to get used to you going to the mother cat's cage, clean and feed and they will be more confident of your presence. Always make the best use of situations. Gaining all their confidence is important so that you can care for them more effectively especially as strays i.e. catching them for neutering, applying medication early and easily if any show signs of illness or diseases, or simply giving them love and affection thru stroking and petting. Of course the ultimate would be to put them all into the cage to continue nursing and you can always put your hands in calmly to stroke all gently to train and assure them that you are a safe caretaker of them. I always put the mother cat with her kittens back together in a cage immediately after spaying, and they will stay in the cage for minimum 2 weeks, longer if the kittens are smaller to ensure their safety and I can monitor their food and wellbeing.
Opportunities present themselves all the time.
Put some food and water for the kittens, even a box for them to sleep in right beside the mother cat's cage. This is the best time and opportunity for you to gain the kittens' confidence and to catch them to put them all into the mother cat's cage.
