Today we had two cats in for spaying.
One was Mama-X from Jessy Lian. Mama-X is estimated to be at least 11 years old and was still “actively” giving birth. Mama was spayed today, with no mishaps (thank heavens!). She was put on drips throughout the surgery and during recuperation. The vets said she appeared to be a strong and healthy cat.
Here’s Mama-X after surgery, still on drips to be on the safe side.
Jessy Lian stayed throughout the surgery to wait for Mama-X. Julie Pek dropped in and since Jessy was there, Julie went back to bring Jaguar (the youngest of Mama-X’s kittens). Wolverine, Puma and Leopard are all still with Jessy. Jessy says all of them are well. Wolverine is still wobbly, but appears to be well enough.
This is Jaguar. She is so pretty now.
Jessy and Jaguar reunites.
Jaguar sleeps on Jessy’s lap.
We took Jaguar to reunite with Mama-X.
Mama-X is fine now, and is home with Jessy.
We are relieved and glad the operation went well. I was rather worried about Mama-X’s age but I knew the vets would do everything possible to ensure the best for Mama-X.

I'm relieved & glad too that the operation went so well. I was so worried & wondering how was the operation doing? And after waiting for a few hours, suddenly the vet was in front of me & telling me the operation went well.
While waiting, I was worried whether I had make the right decision to get her spay at her old age, but I also know that it's very dangerous for her to go through another pregnancy at her age of more than 11 yrs!
I kept repeating to Mama X those Chinese 4 words blessing sayings (eg: Soon Soon Lei Lei, Dai Kat Dai Lei…etc) from – The night before the surgery, the day of the surgery, on the way to the clinic & before going in for surgery. And told her that she MUST wake up after the surgery to go back home with me & see her kittens.
