This morning, the vets discovered that Ben had passed away in the night. Ben was put on drips yesterday and treatment was administered.
Our only consolation is perhaps that Ben did not have to endure any prolonged suffering and he decided he would rejoin the Universal Oneness and be free and at peace now. Perhaps Ben is with his brother, Burt, now, on Rainbow Bridge.
We wish Ben a smooth journey to his next existence.
We convey our deepest condolences to Norshidah. She lost her own cat, Tommy, after a brave battle with kidney failure (requiring dialysis every day), then Burt to sporotrichosis and other unknown causes, and now, Ben, to possibly kidney failiure. All this happened within the span of 3 months. It must be a very trying time for Nor.
I’ll be going over to the clinic later after work today, to see what we can do to help Norshidah.

Hi Kah Yein,
Just a wild thought ya. I’ve nursed 3 kittens from Ipoh SPCA back to life from flu (at that point, they practically stopped eating and were lifeless) which they struggled with for the past 3 weeks plus. They have now recovered and gaining back the weight they lost. They have begun to be more playful too. 1 male and 2 female, siblings. They are about 3 months old. I’m wondering if Norshidah would like to adopt them to help her heal from all the loss. I am currently fostering them till I feel they are ready to go back to Ipoh SPCA shelter, but I would definitely prefer them to find homes. More details and pictures I can give her if she wants. Let me know ya!
Norshidah! You’ve done your best … they are now in a better place. You will be blessed.
Hi Joy,
Nor has an FIV cat, Chombi and just adopted an ex-sporo cat through us, Puteri. She stays in an apartment and cannot keep anymore cats. That’s the reason she could not foster Burt and Ben. Thanks very much for your offer.

Could it be due to poisoning, given the facts all three succumb to possible kidney failure?
A penny for your thoughts, DVS should investigates.
Tommy was Nor’s pet, stayed in an apartment. He was FIV+ and succumbed to kidney failure. Burt and Ben were neighbourhood cats, and lived in Nor’s parents’ place. The vet suspects Ben could have eaten something wrong, but then, he was in a cage all the while and only escaped once, about 2 weeks ago.
RIP ben.
sorry for her loss. you have done your best.
