Updates on Silver, the sporo-cat (Elaine’s)

The sporo-cat’s story is rather complicated, so I’ll do my best to post it as accurately as I can, based on my understanding of the facts given to me.

Elaine handed over Silver (the sporo-cat) to Dawn Tan last night. And Dawn has sent Silver to her vet for boarding and treatment, but Elaine is still doing the fund-raising for Silver.

I hope I’ve got that right.

Meanwhile, one of our readers who have successfully personally nursed a sporo-cat to full recovery wrote to me to offer her vet for consultation. Her vet is in Wangsa Maju and should Elaine take up this offer, this reader will sponsor the entire treatment.

So, I gave Elaine the contact no of this vet and they communicated.

This vet could not board Silver, and Elaine would have to foster the cat herself.

And since Elaine could not do this, she had to decline the offer.

We thank this reader very sincerely and gratefully for her generous offer. The reason she preferred her vet is that she has total confidence in her vet and it was this vet who guided her how to nurse her own sporo-cat back to health previously. This vet also does not believe in euthanasia (Hey, I like that…I really do, but Wangsa Maju IS a bit too far for me to travel to).

So as it stands now, we’ve offered to subsidise 50% of the initial bill of RM150.  As for the subsequent treatment, I’ve asked Elaine to apply for subsidy on a forthnightly basis.  If Elaine also applies to other funds, we’ll work with the other organisations and work out an acceptable subsidy for her.

Yes, you’ve got that absolutely right 😀
Thank you to the reader for her generous offer. It’s great that she has a vet she has total confidence in. It is really a blessing to have a trusted vet, esp one that does not believe in euthanising unnecessarily.

Our vet is in Puchong, quite a distance for us, but well…trust goes and does bring us a long way 😉 They have a FIV+Sporo cat surviving, and they said…if there’s a chance for survival, let’s do it!

So here we are on this journey. And along the way, we picked up the LDP dog 😀
