I seldom write about fish because we don’t deal with the fish in the oceans nor those in people’s aquariums, but today, my friend, Kon, shared a very touching fish story with me.
Kon’s mechanic keeps fish in an aquarium. At the same time, this mechanic looks after his aged mother who had had a stroke. On the day his mother passed away, one of his fish too had a stroke.
Never heard of fish having a stroke, eh?
Well, never have I, but apparently, the fish did, because it kind of became paralysed in one fin or something like that, and could not swim very well.
The mechanic was worried the fish would not be able to survive or eat, because it could not swim very well anymore.
But guess what happened?
Another fish would “bring” the fishfood to this paralysed fish to eat during every feed!
Amazing?
I was speechless when I heard it. Kon said he had taken a photo, but it wasn’t clear.
Well, send it anyway, I said! But he hasn’t, so I thought I’d write the story since I don’t like to push off what I have to do today till tomorrow. I need to go to bed knowing I have done everything I want to do today, and said everything I have to say. In case I die in my sleep, I don’t leave unfinished business around.
So, I’ve told the fish story. Amazing, isn’t it? And many people think fish don’t have much feelings and cannot get things done?
You’ll always have me, son, you hear?
(Not only in the movies, in real life, too!)

Like you…I always do what i wanna do today. In case i die the next minute…Who knows…And that is not negative thoughts. 🙂
fish are pretty much as related to their owners, as much as any other pets i’d say… my uncle used to have a very colorful and beautiful flower horn (“lohan”)… it had been with him for years, at that point of time…
the first weird thing happened was days before my late grandma was hospitalized… the fish went pale, days before my grandma fell sick… as my grandma got better, the color of the fish returned…
weeks or months after, it happened again… the fish went really really pale… this time, the fish looked like it was going to die very soon… then a week later, my grandma passed on… a few days after that, the color returned to the fish again…
i’m not sure if it’s coincidence or the fish was really sick… but happening twice on events connecting to my grandma, i’d rather believe that all pets are connected to us more than we know…
Ya people seldom relate to fish and you have to have them to know they are also very attached to his master. We had a pair of gold fish once and they would only come to the surface when they see my hubby near as he is feeding them. As for others if we come close they do not bother to come near. They out grew the fish tank we had so we let them go at the UM fish pound.
