Cat for adoption (Fenton Yong’s)

Updates on 13th March – Fenton informed me that the cat has passed away, after being adopted.

Hi Dr Chan,

A friend of mine is actually seeking some help to find a permanent home for a male that that she is looking after now. This cat (no name was given and it is estimated that he is around six months old) was actually found lingering around the place where my friend works and it was believed that someone has dumped him there while he was still a kitten. Initially it was my friend’s colleague that saw him first and look after him. And since that she scared the cat would get killed by other bigger cats, she has bought a cage to put him in, while at the same time asking around if someone would adopt him. The cat was placed in the office and my friend’s friend would brought him home during the weekends. However, my friend’s colleague has left the company and has passed the poor cat to my friend to look after.

It was quite okay at the beginning but recently her boss has started complaining about the cat. He does not like an animal to be present inside his shop and told my friend to get rid of him. My friend couldn’t adopt the cat as she is living in an apartment and already have two dogs and even that she is receiving complains from her neighbors.

I would like to take him in but I already have a dog and two cats, which one is blind. New comer would not go along well with the blind one (male) especially another male. This cat is very human friendly and loves being around with people.

Attached are some photos of the cat.

Thanks.

YG

Hi, Dr Chan, just want to inform you that this cat has already passed on. The carer informed me that she has no longer take care of this cat. She brought him to her in law’s home last week and let him roam free there. The house is a landed one and has plenty of space for pets. Her in law was not taking him as a pet but just let him stay there and feed him until someone would adopt him. Unfortunately, her in law’s house has also two fierce dogs which are confined in the backyards. Two days ago, the curious cat roamed into the backyard and was bitten to death by the two dogs. I’m not sure if it was no one at home or no one heard when the cat cried for help.

I feel sorry for the cat, he was less than one year old. But life is short, god bless his soul and hope that he would reincarnate in a better form.
