My friend just texted to say Brainy has passed on.
Brainy is now on Rainbow Bridge, whole again, and happy. I am taught that rebirth is immediate and that is so comforting in times of bereavement. Brainy’s suffering is over now. No more pain. He is at peace now.
My personal thanks and gratitude go to my friend for making the effort of accompanying John Siang to the clinic, waiting in the queue, helping him during the consultation with the vet, giving him advice on what to do with Xiao Cheang (the injured one) and Mi Bao (the un-injured one) and finally, taking Brainy home to nurse since Brainy was in a very bad state.
Brainy hung on bravely and stoically for three days, tended with loving care and devotion from my friend.
We now send our loving prayers to Brainy for his safe passage to Rainbow Bridge or to that better place that all animals go to upon their demise from this Earth.
Thank you, my dear friend, for rising above our earthly mundane commitments and doing the most compassionate thing for Brainy – nursing him after that most unfortunate accident.
AnimalCare will never be able to thank you enough for your help.

Gosh…:( Sad news, but yes…Brainy has been reborn! You shall be missed little one.
I am dedicating this comment to the fosterer. A big Thank You for stepping forward when Brainy needed you … LOVE AND CARE in a sometime very heartless world.
Yes. I am sure your friend, the fosterer, is (was now) doing all she knows how to take care of Brainy.
I have nursed many sick cats at their terminal stage. It was never pleasant and almost always heart-breaking. On one hand you wish them just go, but your emotion still so much want them to stay, just a little longer perhaps there is still that little hope .. you hang-on to that hope but you know as much it is hopeless.
Whenever I encountered such situation, where a new born needed to go, and in such horrible state, I always wonder why KARMA has to be so BAD? Why cannot KARMA be a little bit kinder? Especially to an innocent just born?
BUT I know too, the fosterer would be heart-broken, even for a little, because all she could do is watching Brainy struggled helplessly. And that helplessness is most wrenching.
I know what you’re saying is rhetorical, but if it helps in bad times, “karma” is we reaping what we have sown. So, it isn’t about karma being good or bad, kind or unkind. It is about “karma” being fair. And not everything is due to karma. Brainy’s accident had a cause – he was attacked by another cat.
Cindy,
Why do we always have to blame Karma when something bad happens? Very often we hear people say this when something bad falls on them “It is my bad Karma”. But when something good happens to them, they will say “Thank God!!”.
The next time there is a thunderstorm in your place, go out to your garden and observe the leaves that had fallen down from the trees after the thunderstorm. Then perhaps you will be a little bit wiser and enlightened.

Would like to thank everyone for their prayers and positive vibes sent to Brainy. He had a decent sent off, while my friend chanted a prayer of Goddess of Mercy after. I would like to think he’s in much better place.
Dr.Chan, thank you for lending me your ears.
Dear Brainy’s fosterer,
It is an unfortunate thing that happen to little Brainy.
Nevertheless, until his last breath, he has received the greatest loves of all from you. You have showered him with so much kindness and despite his critical condition, I truly believe that he never suffer, instead only happiness when he said good-bye to you.
The brightest star up in the sky tonight is Brainy, looking to you meowing ” thank you so much for being my guardian angel, and now, let me be your guardian angel”
Absolutely, Connie. I agree completely. Brainy is now her guardian angel.
