A sharing…to give us hope (from Zue)

Here’s a beautiful sharing from Zue. I asked for her consent to publish if only to give Connie, her children and Chen Chen some hope. And the rest of us can use some of it, too! Thank you, Zue. Good things must be shared, and that certainly goes for good stories.

I am both happy and sad about the kittens eg the likes of Brainy (sad it has passed on but happy that it is in a better place) and Stronghold (happy that it is still fighting) and the other kittens. What makes it even more touching was the help these kittens get from their human friends. We need more of these specific species of human. Hope these kittens would make it. God bless the kittens’ spirits and the souls of their human friends.
Also hope that Ofie will find his way home. We do have a few community cats that never came home and we pray hard that they met someone kind to them. On the bright side, we had 2 return-home-incidents that end well….. with 2 different cats! Thank God!!
The first was Tang (short for Datang). Like his name, he came to mom’s house, sneaking for leftover cat food. We gain enough of his trust, but a visit to the vet freaked him out and he ran for the drains. Mom and I tried to get him back but we couldnt find him. We were worried about him, but since he was a street cat, that made us a bit more confident about him surviving the world out there. But that doesnt stop us from worrying about him. Mom’s house is in ss1 while the vet is in ss3, but after a few days,… lo and behold, Tang came home!. Dont know how he did it, crossing the busy main roads and all those left right turns to find mom’s house. It is still a mystery to us till today. He stayed with us until he passed on about 2 years ago. (About a month after Tang’s passing, a kitten came by mom’s house, looks almost exactly like Tang and we named him Tang Jr. :))
The second was Thomas (the community ginger cat) was taken and “placed” near a mosque (we found out much much later where he was placed). We dont know where to start searching, but with him being a street cat, we hope he has enough experience to survive out there. We still worry though. After two weeks or so, guess who came home?… Thomas! He was filthy, dirty and had been in fight(s). A kind soul had taken him to a vet as the wounded area was shaven and started to heal. Re-homed him to in-laws so as to “protect” him from being “placed” elsewhere and since has passed on about a month ago.
I believe that the street cats somehow know who are the cat-friendly humans….. they seemed to know who they are “count” on…. perhaps its the vibes that we gave out…. whatever it is, its good to have more of us to help them…

Yup..More of us to help all these little lives! I pray for that everyday. How hard is it to extend a little a little kindness, some food and perhaps even a pat to sooth a little life? Not hard at all. And so we do it. Continue on!
