Christine informed me yesterday morning that Stronghold had passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was found to have already stopped breathing in the morning. The news is shocking (must have been sudden death), but perhaps we could all take comfort in the fact that he did not suffer from pain or any illness.
Christine, Sue Yie and Sue Ann gave Stronghold a wonderful life, albeit short, but remember that time is relative. It may have been a week for us, but it has been a lifetime for little Stronghold.
We wish Stronghold a good life in his next existence now, and for Christine and her daughters, we send our deepest sympathies for their loss and wish them strength to overcome this reality in life.
For Sue Yie and Sue Ann:
Dear Sue Yie and Sue Ann,
I’m very sorry to hear of Stronghold’s passing. But perhaps a small consolation is that he never suffered at all, and that he passed away peacefully in his sleep.
Lifespan is determined at birth (only we don’t know how long it is). For us, Stronghold might have had a short life, but for him, it was an entire lifetime of receiving so much love and care, more than he would ever have got even if his own mother had looked after him.
Take comfort in knowing that both of you and your mum had given Stronghold a wonderful life. Think of the fact that his entire lifetime (though short) was a lifetime of love and caring.
Perhaps Stronghold was meant to live a short life as a kitten, and he has now been born in a better existence and this is all because of the love he had received from all of you. You have made that difference to him.
There is a poem called “The Rainbow Bridge” which I’ve attached for you. It may be a mythical place, but it is comforting to pet-owners knowing that their pets are whole again, no more suffering, happy and free. I hope it helps you.
If it helps in any way, read my book ‘See you at Rainbow Bridge”. It tells of the losses I’ve had to deal with. You can download the book at www.tiny.cc/paws.
Rejoice in the fact that you’ve been given the opportunity to take care of Stronghold. Perhaps he came into your lives to give you the chance to do a good and noble deed. The karmic connection is re-linked you’ll see him again in your next lives, in better circumstances.
Give yourself time to heal, and time WILL heal…in time.
Please do write if you need to.
Regards,
aunty kah yein
