Subsidy for Fang, newly adopted cat (Nurul Firdaus Abd Rahidin’s)

Dear Dr Chan.. This is Fang.An unspay male , probably one year old
cat. I adopted him from ” Free cat for Adoption” at Danau Kota on 29th
March.These cats were saved from DBKL ..

I always wanted to adopt a cat but my dad said that only one kind of
animal allowed in the house.. I have hamsters at home..Either the
hamsters go or never have a cat.He’s really firm with this..

On the 29th my dad, my siblings and I went to Danau Kota to buy
clothing for my brother, then we just have a look at the cat booth..

Fang really knows how to ” ambil hati ” my dad. He licks my dad arms
and stay put in his lap. My sister and I was attracted to a female
calico, she’s active but in the end I just choose Fang because My dad
likes him and Fang is attached to him.

Fang was okay at the first night, we put him inside the cage.he was
meowing a lot..
The first morning, I played with him a bit and caged him. My parents
went out and by 10am I got a called from my dad saying that Fang
escaped.We are living in a 9th floor apartment.I’m afraid that he’ll
jumped off the balcony ..we found him in my parents bedroom, sneezing
a lot continue until night.. He’s litter train and never cause us any
problem yet.
2nd day, he’s getting worse.. We come back from Kenduri and my mum
said that Fang is drooling a lot.. Now he’s been sneezing and
drooling.. I put in the cage , he’s eating but seems gasping for air..
LAst night i just give him a quick bath , to clear up his eyes ,Last
night I put him in the cage without the litter box but i pour Ever
Clean on the tray below the cage…He didn’t pee and poo until I put
back the litter tray this morning….It’s really heartbreaking.. How
discipline he is..
I’m waiting for the vet assessment tomorrow.

Dear Dr Chan,

Thank you so much for replying..
I will do my best for Fang , He’s eating wet food right now ” fussie cat” , I put water a bit in the wet food because he doesn’t drink so much,.

I will keep you update.. Even though he’s not spay yet, he doesn’t spray around the house.. I told him not to.. He doesn’t .. This one is definitely a keeper.. Really hope he’ll get well soon..

On 4th April:

Dear Dr Chan,

I have bring Fang to the vet at Taman Danau Kota, Setapak.

Fang was diagnosed flu and Dr said that his phlegm worsen his respiratory condition, a mild inflammation at both eyes,and a mild infection at the left ears. Dr gives him 4 shots of medicine for flu  ( RM100) and medications for one week ( Rm 70) …

Dr said that Fang is actually two years old..Very easy to handle during shots and during giving pills into his mouth…

I would love to apply the medical subsidy of My Animal Care…The vet also suggest first vaccination after 3 weeks or until Fang recover from the flu.

This is a new experience of me adopting cat and visiting the vet. I hope Fang wil recover.

Dear Dr Chan,

This is Fang after three  day consuming medicine…

He can breath normally now, no drooling,no sneezing , only that he still have eye discharge…

he can eat normally, I let him out of his cage if he successfully eat all his medicine.. took me about 45 minutes to gives his 7 pills…

Thank you Dr Chan,for guiding me and   I will post his bill on Monday..
