The black dog’s (ex-monsoon drain inhabitant) updates (Siow Ee Lin’s)

Ref: http://animalcare.my/2012/04/21/monsoon-drain-black-dog-is-out-from-koo/

Here’s updates from Ee Lin regarding the black dog, now named Kofi (he is up for adoption):

Hello! first of all I’d like to thank you for your prompt response to our distress. I’m simply amazed at your efficiency. Our dog is now out of the waters (pun intended) thanks to Koo and another dog rescuer, Yoke Mei, who came to help.

However, he has to stay out during the evenings and throughout the night as my family dog is very aggressive towards him. Initially he was leashed up but when we were out he broke out of the leash and disappeared for two hours. We thought he was gone for good and dismantled his leash and shelter. However he returned from his roaming and quietly waited outside for his dinner.
Hence, my family has decided that we will not leash him in, but whenever he returns we will feed and water him as our own. If there are nobody that will claim ownership by Tuesday, we will decide then on the next course of action. Of course, it would be heaven sent if our family dog would get along with him and we can take the dog in.
Attached a photo of Kofi  (as we have decided to name him temporarily) I managed to snap for potential adopters to see. We have put Kofi up for adoption on petfinder.my, and a neighbor has expressed some wishes to adopt him. He is a handsome little brute, and a gentle pet. I hope he finds a deserving home soon.
Thank you again for your efforts!
Regards, Ee Lin

Hello, Kofi urgently, desperately needs a home, any interested adopters/fosterers please call/text me at 0163622441 or drop me an email.

  2. Wong Yoke Mei

Hang in there Ee Lin, have hope. Someone will come forward. He will make a great dog. From the looks of him he is also a very smart and attentive dog. If will be a great shame to have him surrendered to a shelter. I know you may be under stress to have him adopted ASAP, but somethings you can’t rush. I had a past experience before and it was my first re-home and i was stressed out and rushed to send him off to any adopter. At the end, let’s just say that he could have a better life if i had taken more time and did not rush through the whole adoption thingy. Will help to ask around. If anyone is to adopt, please do get them to neuter him. Else, he will run off again and get himself lost in the future.
Is your own dog a male too?

  3. Koo

Just to update in case anyone is following: I went to collect my rescue leash today and was informed that Kofi has disappeared but not before they attached a licence to him which they hope will keep the dogcatchers away. Hopefully, Kofi has found his way home.
