ACTS from Batu Pahat starts its own CNRM subsidy programme!!

Ahh…this is the best present for me today – ACTS of Batu Pahat, under the leadership of Angie Ng Chew Khui, has started a  CNRM subsidy programme, modeled after ours.

This is exactly what I had been hoping for since we started our programme three years ago – that other groups of people will start their own programmes in their respective towns.

ACTS has its own panel vet in Batu Pahat now. That was how we started three years ago too – with 6 panel vets in the Klang Valley. But after a year, requests came in from other places as well, so we changed our system to a subsidy scheme without any panel vets. That way, we could reach out and help caregivers in the whole of Malaysia.

Any project will undergo changes as needs and requirements change with time. The important thing is to start it off and this is what Angie Ng has done. Angie told me that she is using her own funds to start this off and hence, she will only be able to do 4 cases a month.

Meanwhile, we shall continue to help her and her friends, Miow Leng and Wei Tah, with their cases until they can be on their own.

We would also like to encourage other groups of friends to start off a similar programme. You can always start off small like ACTS, with just one panel vet. Like AnimalCare, you don’t have to expand if you are shorthanded. Keep it small, simple and manageable.

Remember that every animal neutered translates to the prevention of hundreds of unwanted births and the reduction of untold suffering on the street.
