Hi Dr Chan,

My name is Suba. I was refered to you by Serene (from Hope) & Praveena (a regular volunteer).
Praveen & I brought two strays in my neighbourhood to the vet last weekend.
1. one with a hole & maggots on its neck. (brown female named Bruno) ( i didnt know she was a female…)
2. the other with distemper. (black female named Mummy)
I was suggested to write to you for assistance in terms of some funding.
Bruno was caged in an empthy house next to mine. but some of the neighbours started complaining coz she cries the whole night.
i was worried that some of the neighbours might harm her  so i uncaged her. But am feeding her the medicine & food twice a day- but unable to bring for dressing as it is crucually required.
I will catch her again tomorrow (sat) and will bring her for follow-up check up. but after trhe check up, I dont know where to bring her for shelter.
The distemper dog was chained in another house. I was giving her the medicines & food twice evryday. She was recovering well until yesterday.
This morning i saw the symptoms reoccuring (discharge from eyes & nose). I strongly believe if i isolated her  and give more attention she will recover and survive.
To be honest, thought i dont have money – i wish to ask for help in terms of providing sherter for these dogs instead.
i dont want money – but i need help.
Please advice if you are able to direct me to anyone that can help.
Thank you,
Suba

Dear Dr Chan, Million thanks for sharing this info on your blog. A kind soul from Singapore called me to infrom that there is a clinic in Tiram that accepts sick dogs for shelter with a minimum cost of RM75 per month. (This fee includes food, medication & stay). This sounds too good to be true – but im taking chances to check it out tomorrow. Lets keep all our fingers (and paws) crossed. God Bless.
