A few weeks ago, a group of friends went up to visit Meiji and her dogs. I was offered a ride there as well, but my traveling days are over. All my life, I’ve always had a bad case of motion sickness when riding in any land vehicle and it’s been getting worse with age, so I passed.
Here are some photos, shared by them:
Welcome to Doggie Paradise!
Greetings!!
These would be the first line of the welcoming committee.
The dogs are usually all over the place.
Hello, hello!
Most of the dogs are 8 years and above by now. Meiji has stopped taking in dogs about two years ago.
If I remember correctly, this would be the way to the other enclosures. Russell is taikor in one of them while Jackie (the one-eyed female) rules another one. Russell, Jackie, Doby and Sweetie are our sponsored dogs at Meiji’s. We provide for their food and their medical needs.
Yes, ’tis the season…I think?
I remember this little white dog from three years back!
Hmm….but they have to fall on their own, right?
Nature never hurries, yet everything is accomplished – Lao Tzu.
Our friends had a wonderful time at Doggie Paradise!

I’m a poor traveler myself, sitting in a car going through bumpy roads etc.
Love the fact that the dogs look so well behaved!
I heard that if your drink Ginger before a ride, say half and hour before, that will help settle your tummy and quesiness … there’s motion sickness tablets which you buy from the pharmacy too…. just in case if there comes a time when you absolutely need it 🙂
Oh, I have a wristband that works too – it has a button that presses on the pressure point. But I’d still rather stay home with my cats! That’s pure bliss! Will only travel if there is a real purpose to do so (ie. to be useful to others).
