Ong Soo Fen (012-3735923) needs help urgently to catch/rescue an injured dog in the SS2 area. Currently, Soo Fen and her friend are trying to catch the dog which has fallen into a drain. The dog was knocked down by a car and is bleeding from the private part and the head. The dog is also shivering and panting.
Help is appreciated and needed urgently.
Please forward this link to rescuers. Thank you.
Updates at 7pm: We sourced for help from friends and contacts were given to Ms Ong. I was just informed by Ms Ong’s friend that someone has responded. Thank you all for helping.
Updates at 8.44pm: This is a text message from Ms Ong:
Thanks to all of you. Finally the dog is saved by a few kind hearted people and in a public shelter. A neighbour’s son who knows the shelter promised to contact the shelter for further assistance. Surprisingly many people chose not to do anything today perhaps not to get involved. Anyway, a life is saved. Thanks again.
Updates at 9.30pm: We wish to acknowledge and thank Koo for responding to this appeal and driving all the way in the rain to offer his assistance despite his very busy schedule and appointments. Also, to our two friends who were on standby to help. Their contacts were given to Ms Ong but she did not call them. My smses to Ms Ong were also not replied, I finally managed to contact Ms Ong’s friend who said everything had been taken care of. Last but not least, thank you to everyone who read this post and responded.
A gentle reminder to everyone: We are not a rescue team and have never claimed to be one. We don’t mind publicising for help should you need any, but we do not and cannot promise we will be able to find help. When we blog for help, anyone may respond and sometimes this response may turn out to be unsuitable to your needs or expectations. This is something we have no control over. If you require urgent rescue help of a certain kind, it is much better if you approach the rescue teams and other groups that offer the services which you require and are comfortable with. Our Medical Fund is on hand to provide subsidies to needy individual caregivers, should this be required. Thank you.

Ms Ong,
Dr Chan contacted me about your SOS and I gave her permission to give my hp# to you. I waited for your call for almost 2 hours but you never called. If you had called, I would have responded.

I was shocked when I saw this post they din rescued the dog they left the dog at the ss2/22 field n put SOS in MDDB . Late at nite yesterday I saw the SOS n run to the field n found out the dog left over there !! How could they just left the dog over there , the puppy was seriously in pain when v tried to carry he doggie after a gentleman volunteered to send the poor puppy to the clinic . I felt heart breaking to the behavior of the rescuer n the owner .u post up so many for help but y u left the puppy alone over there n wait for death . If I din saw the SOS in MDDB if the gentleman din showed up the poor dog definitely be death now ! spine broke bleeding badly condition quite serious this was the update the hero SMS me yesterday .
I am furious over this KY. In spite of Koo telling the ‘rescuers’ that he had to rush of to a meeting – no one even wanted to take the poor dog home for the night! Have the no compassion or mercy in their hearts???? One night!!!! They just dumped the bleeding dog in the padang!!!!! Anyway, a person who is with the company that organises a well-known pet event annually passed by the field and saw the dog and alerted us. Luckily, Gary Kim rushed over and took the dog to AMC where it is now receiving veterinary care under MDDB. Couldn’t they have done just a little more?????? At least take it home and wait for someone to pick it up from there – away from the rain and thunderstorm?????
I understand how furious you would be, Wani. On my end, I received the SOS to source for help and I contacted several people I knew, Koo being one of them. PAWS was on standby to help, another friend as well, both contacts given to the rescuer by sms, but there was no response from the rescuer’s side while my friends waited. All my smses were ignored. People want to help, but they need to know the location. SS2 is a big area. All I received much later was that one single sms from the rescuer which I have published verbatim in this blogpost (only withheld the name of the shelter). There was no further news from the rescuer’s side except from her friend who said everything had been taken care of.
Koo sent an update much later, towards midnight: http://animalcare.my/2012/11/28/is-this-your-dog-updates-on-the-rescued-dog-in-ss2/, which I published at 12.16am.
I am equally tired of sourcing for help from my friends (who respond because they trust me) if rescuers do not work together with them or do the needful for the animals. Perhaps AnimalCare will just keep to our mission of providing medical subsidies and food subsidies and leave the rescuing to the rescue groups.
Thanks for your update.
