A sharing from Master Oreo Bartholomeow Balestorm

One in a while, I receive delightful emails from our furry friends who happen to be readers of this blog too.

Here’s one from Master Oreo Bartholomeow Balestorm whose mama has just donated towards our fund (thank you so much!):

Hello Dr Chan,
My name is Oreo Bartholomeow Balestorm and my mama and I have been avid readers of your blog.  I’ve asked for mama to make a donation to AnimalCare’s food and medical funds so that you can continue your good work in caring for street animals.

I was also destined to a life on the street in Penang before mama & papa decided to adopt me and bring me home with them. Now I’m living and playing in a really tall building in Petaling Jaya, eating very yummy food, sleeping on soft warm comfy beds, and enjoying the cool air from aircons!

Grandpa found me in a paperbag with my siblings in a field in Penang on the 2nd day of CNY when I was just barely a month old. My siblings didn’t survive and I was only “nyawa-nyawa ikan” (according to grandpa). I overheard grandpa saying that my siblings and I were meant to be cooked in a pot by foreign workers who frequent the field! Thank goodness grandpa found me!!! A kind lady living behind grandpa’s house took me in and cared for me but she was going to put me back out in the streets once I’m big and strong enough. Papa and mama brought me to the vet to make sure that I was alright and I think I made them fall so much in love with me that they decided to take me home with them.

I hope the donation can help as many street animals as possible and I hope they can all be as lucky as I am to find my foreverhome-ngiao!Meowingly yours,

Oreo Bartholomeow Balestorm (papa gave me this really long  name!)
Oh wow…thank you so much for sharing your story, Oreo, may we blog it, and do you have any photos to share? Many thanks for your family’s kind donation to our fund too. It would certainly go a long way towards helping many furry friends on the street.

Hello Dr Chan,

Papa & mama wants to be anonymous but they say if I want to send you some pictures of myself, i can do so. Yay! So, attached herewith are some photos of me. 🙂

This first photo of me was taken on the 2nd day that I was found.

2nd photo-I was trying out the puss-in-boots look. Did I get it right?

3rd photo-on my way to another vet…the first vet did not take a good look at me and grandpa & grandma were worried about me!

4th photo-asking mama if I could call papa to ask when he’ll be home from work.

5th photo-I love my mini basket…

6th photo-being cutesy cos I made mama angry earlier by biting and scratching her hands.

7th photo-most recent picture of me. Am I handsome?

P/s: Mama wants me to tell you that you’re very welcome.

Enjoy your weekend-ngiao!

Yes! Oreo, you are certainly a very handsome and lucky kitty!

    Hello (uncle/auntie) Chen,

I will try my very best to be a good boy and take good care of papa, mama, grandpa & grandma. I still make papa & mama so angry every now and then cos I bite and scratch their hands and feet a bit too hard when we play. I try not to but I can’t help myself-its just so much fun!

Thank you for your kind wishes.

    Meowingly yours,
    Oreo Bartholomeow Balestorm

    Hello uncle Akmar,

You spilled the beans, I was kinda hoping that people will see the 3rd picture and think that I was laughing when in actual fact, I was screaming to be let out. It was my first time in there and I was afraid! >..<

    Meowingly yours,

    Hello auntie Joy,

Mama said that my head was too small to fit even the smallest collar that she bought so she had no choice but to make me wear it as a belt so that she knows where I am at all times. But I’ve learned how to walk around without making the bell tinkle so mama still have a hard time looking for me! >..<

    Meowingly yours,
    Oreo Bartholomeow Balestorm

    Hello auntie Jasmine,

Shucks, thank you for your kind words. I don’t really like baths but I’m as vain as my papa so I put up with my baths just to make sure that my fur remains white as snow and soft as silk!

    Meowingly yours,
    Oreo Bartholomeow Balestorm
