Nujtiya Chareansouk is Mdm Lim Tiang Seouk’s daughter. Mdm Lim is a dog caregiver in Kangar, Perlis. Recently, Nujtiya helped her 67-year old mother transport 4 female dogs for spaying at their local vet. The bill was RM1180. We have fully sponsored the entire bill (RM600 from our Medical Fund and RM580 from our donor, Angel Inc.). We thank Angel Inc. for its generosity and kindness in topping up the balance of the bill for Mdm Lim and Nujtiya. Vet costs in Perlis is high and understandably so, as the vets may not have the volume to lower their charges.
Here is a recap of some details about the work of Mdm Lim, as narrated by Nujtiya:
Mum has been feeding stray dogs & cats more than 20 years. Everyday she will buys the “chicken head” from market & cook for the strays. She also buys fish, rice, etc from market & cook for the strays or sometimes dog food from pet shop.
According to her, she pays (only the “chicken heads”) RM 80/month and sometimes fish, rice, dog food, etc (probably less than RM 50/month).
Before feeding the strays, she will remove the harder part / bone to avoid any leftover at the feeding place.
She will feed the dogs nightly instead of day time so that she won’t get scolded by the passerby or caught by town coucil.
If she saw puppies, she will bring them back & raise for few months then release them to the same place she found them. She can’t keep them in her house area as the residents there ever complaint and report to town council to catch the dogs as they said they worried about their safety.
Just recently, we decided to bring the dogs for neutering as she notice the number of stray dogs seem like increasing. She told me she can’t afford to feed so many dogs due to her age and health condition.
Since Mdm Lim does not have the physical strength to catch and transport the dogs to the vet, Nujtiya tries her best to get as many dogs neutered whenever she goes back to visit her mum in Perlis.
