Persian-like cat for adoption – Adopted! (Peggy Ng Suat Ha’s)

Updates: Adopted!!

Peggy Quah (Ng Suat Ha)  is helping her friend rehome this Persian-like cat as the friend is allergic to cats and plans to surrender the cat to the shelter. However, I have advised Peggy to get the cat treated first because it is not wise to surrender any ill cat (including with skin problems) to any shelter.

The cat is about 4 months old now and is still undergoing treatment for the skin problem.

If you are interested to adopt this cat, please contact Peggy Quah at peggyquah@gmail.com.

Sigh. I have a Persian cat that a friend literally picked up off the street because she had been dumped by her previous owners who no longer wanted to care for her. She was in much worse shape than this – 8 months old, broken teeth, vomitting due to stomach parasites and two types of fungus growing on her – but after care and love she’s a nice, happy cat.

Please, people. If you can’t care for an animal – especially if you know that you or anyone who might have to spend extended amounts of time with the animal is allergic – DON’T BUY. Don’t think of it as buying an object, don’t think of yourselves as prospective owners. Think of it as adopting a new family member. You won’t adopt a child if you can’t care for him/her, so go through the same thought process the next time you see an animal you want to buy.

first of all, we should discourage ‘breeding’ special breed of animals for profits. We have to educate people, not to buy.

In Holland, recently there was/is the question of dogs (sorry I cannot remember the name of that breed), because of breeding, vets now found many cases of bones and joints problems. And vets are asking breeders to take more responsibilities in making sure how they breed their animals.

My question with breeding-for-profit is, some of these animals when not able to sell, ended up selling over the internet, and nobody have any knowledge of their fates. Human beings are not the kindest animals known.

Thanks Dr.Chan. I will see Milo has a good home. He will either stay with my friend or Che Masni from your blog. Will let u know the outcome in a week’s time. In the meantime he is under medication and is well cared for.
