Bonny’s unexpected, shocking and sad demise

Ref: http://animalcare.my/2013/05/30/visiting-bonny-and-whitey/

We have just been informed by the vet that Bonny passed away this morning. She was found lifeless when the vet came in today. We are shocked especially when I just saw her yesterday, after being spayed. The vet said it could be due to the spaying as she was not keen to eat last night although she had awakened from the anaesthesia. The exact cause is still unknown. The vet also detected TVT growth inside her uterus and was planning to give her another jab of chemo.

Pei Kuan has been informed by the vet. We are in communication and have offered help should Pei Kuan require any. Angel Inc has offered to sponsor cremation for Bonny’s remains if Pei Kuan agrees. Bonny has been a symbol of strength and cheerfulness throughout her entire treatment. She deserves this final rites as a mark of respect for who she was.

We express our deepest condolence to Pei Kuan for the loss of Bonny. May Bonny be in a happier existence now, free from pain and suffering.

Upon death, all pain and suffering cease, so let us take comfort in that and in knowing that we have done the best that we know for the animals under our care with the best of intentions. There are some things that we cannot control nor change.

Angel Inc and we are committed to sponsoring the full cost of all treatment received by Bonny throughout her stay at the vet’s.

Be happy in your new existence, sweet Bonny. Remember you are much loved by all who have known you. You have been so strong and cheerful throughout this entire period. We have much to learn from you.

I have not felt so sad, for the death of a cat or a dog, for a very long time. Somehow Bonny touches me with her ‘come what may’, and just carry-on with life attitude.

I am devastated. I saw bonny when I visited whitey on Tuesday and both of them are seeking treatment at the same clinic. My condolences to Pei Kuan. Rest in peace Bonny.
