We have subsidised RM93.50 (50% of the total bill of RM187) for the treatment rendered to save these puppies’ lives. Only one survived. This subsidy comes from all donors through our Medical Fund (RM47.50) and Berjaya Cares (RM46).

good evening Dr Chan,

earlier this afternoon i sent another receipt to you regarding the puppies in this case. it is very sad for me to say that 3 puppies (including the attachment pictures in this email) have passed away. only 1 survived and that 1 puppy is with her adopter. i have yet to receive pictures of her. hopefully she is okay too.
their cause of death is unknown but the vet said perhaps it was distemper or they are born with defects (higher possibility than distemper).
-this puppy (picture attachment) was about 1 month but her eyes were not fully opened yet.
-she had a very big lump (size of a ping pong ball according to the vet) on her belly.
-she had difficulties of breathing and most of the time, she needed to stand up to breathe properly.
-her lower jaw is unusual as it is ‘pushed inside’ the upper jaw. this showed signs of birth defects.
The vet suggested euthanasia but my mother and i were against it so we decided to go on with a thorough check-up which included an X-Ray for the puppy. my mother and i did everything we could in order to save this last puppy but unfortunately, she did not make it on the very day we brought her to the vet again. may she finally rest in peace.
thank you.
Lester Hiew

All these medical defects could be people breeding their dogs / cats with their own siblings. Just like humans, they should not inbreed. It’s so sad
