It sure is easier than my ribbon method!
Beware of the tail, though.
It boasts of 4 advantages, but I think the part about trapping whole families, ie. “trapping the mum-cat without leaving the kittens behind” is a good point.
Our disclaimer holds.
My way:
Our disclaimer also holds for the above, though I cannot foresee how a cat can be harmed using my “ribbon method”! So far, so good, but you must understand that I had help from Rosie and Daffodil without which both trappings would not have been successful.
Now, do you have a trained cat-assistant like Rosie and Daffodil?

Dear Kah Yein,
This a good idea for a trap. I used to use the Musang trap (like a rat trap) to trap male cats as they are less trusting to humans and more feral (tomcats around my neighbourhood). There was once when I managed to trap one male, and he was so feral that even though I immediately put a cloth over it, he totally freaked out. He tried so hard to claw his way out, and kept banging his face at the sides and corners of the trap. After just a few minutes, he did not calm down, and I started to see blood stains on the newspaper that was laid inside. I took a closer look and he bruised his paws and nose/face. I immediately decided to release him, because if I give him another 5 minutes, he could really injure himself very badly. This video gave me another idea on how to trap him. If all else, fail, I would have to go back to the old school method of feeding till I gain his trust….. 🙂
