Dogfood for the Klang community dogs and industrial site dogs (Lester Hiew Thiam Hock and Jenny Khong Chin Chin’s)

We have sponsored 60 cans of Chicopee Dog Chunks (Chicken & Turkey) and 6 packs of Caliber dogfood for the many community dogs whom Lester and his mum feed every day at midnight as well as the many dogs at the industrial sites whom they feed once a week.

For this purchase, RM510 comes from all donors through our Food Fund, RM600 from Mr Kok Khee Wee while the balance of the bill is topped up by Andy Lew.

We also sponsored 2 trays of eggs and 3 packs of rice, for RM72.48 and this comes from all donors through our Food Fund.

Our visit to see the community dogs, in June this year: http://animalcare.my/2013/06/08/visiting-lester-hiews-community-dogs-and-providing-dogfood-for-them/ (These are the lucky ones who get to live in housing estates and are fed every day at midnight by Lester and Jenny. The not-so-lucky ones at the industrial sites – please scroll and see below.)

We help Lester and his mum with the medical needs of all the community dogs, in their neutering as well as medical treatment. Lester does his best in getting the puppies rehomed.

Today’s purchase for all the dogs:

In addition to what we provide, Lester’s mum, Jenny, also buys chicken and cooks daily to feed their community dogs. The feeding is done only at midnight so as not to incur the displeasure of neighbours.

What’s really touching is that these community dogs would come all the way (from wherever they are) to sleep in front of Lester’s house in the wee hours of morning, to guard the house as an act of gratitude.

Besides these lucky community dogs, Lester and his mum also drive about 45 minutes once a week to several industrial sites to feed the many, many abandoned dogs there. For some of these dogs, this may be the only decent meal they will get in one week. For some, it may be their last meal too. All of these dogs have been abandoned. There are so many of them.

Hence, we cannot over-emphasise the importance of neutering to save lives.

We truly salute Lester and his mum, Jenny, for tirelessly doing this for these deprived dogs. And we thank all donors for making it possible for us to share a little bit in their noble work by providing dogfood for these down and trodden children of Mother Nature.

I totally agree with you Norely. Bless their good hearts.

It takes very2 special, committed and dedicated people to cook for the dogs and going on feeding rounds for 2-3 hours, after midnight, EVERY SINGLE DAY. Also, taking care of the their medical problems as well. On top of that, feeding the dogs at the industrial site too! I was really speechless when I first read about their work in Dr Chan’s blog. I truly salute Lester and his mother Jenny. Keep up your amazing work! May you always be blessed for your deep compassion for these homeless dogs.
