The bill for the parvovirus treatment is RM270. We have subsidised RM235 for it and this subsidy comes from all donors through our Medical Fund (RM50), Berjaya Cares (RM85) and Mr Kok Khee Wee contributed another RM100.

To: “chankahyein@gmail.com” <chankahyein@gmail.com>Hello dr.
Hari ini saya dah hantar 8 ekor kittens ke vet..
Dr vet check 1 ekor yg paling teruk dan result kena parvo..
Then dr ada bagi ubat2 utk ke kesemua kittens itu .
Kosnya rm270. Nnt saya hntr pic kittens.
Saya nak memohon subsidy. Boleh?
All 8 kittens had been infected with parvovirus and we advised Norshah to consider getting the rest of the cats in her colony vaccinated.
Norshah works in a food stall in Skudai and she feeds the cats in the area, many of which have been abandoned. She endeavours to get the cats neutered and so far 13 have already been neutered while 4 had been adopted.
When we told Norshah about the importance of vaccination (which she was unaware of earlier), Norshah went to her vet to enquire and quickly learnt up as much as she could about vaccination and the schedules required. We have offered our medical subsidy so that all the other cats in the colony can be vaccinated as soon as possible.
Norshah was also not aware of the need for quarantine, so we have advised her on this as well. We told her about sanitising the surrounding area with 1 part bleach in 30 parts water as the parvovirus is very deadly and spreads through the air. That is why the quarantine is very important.
It was only after a few email exchanges that we realised Norshah was unaware of all these precautionary measures. It was unfortunate that she was not advised by the vet.
So far, 2 of the kittens have passed on. The remaining 6 are fighting for their lives. We pray they will make it.
The 6 surviving kittens – please send your positive healing wishes to them.
We have advised Norshah on the importance of quarantine, to isolate these sick kittens from other cats, disinfecting the area and also the urgency to have her other healthy adult cats vaccinated.

We will pray for their speedy recovery…
Praying for their recovery.
You can add pro-biotics (yakult) a bit into their food or syringe feed them to help with the diarrhea.
Thick chicken broth with a piece of garlic added will help boost immunity and give them the liquids and nutrients they need.
I burn eucalyptus oil on a burner to ease their breathing
Vitamins (liquid) from the vet added into honey i think, will also give them some energey.
