The bill is RM559 for the emergency surgery done to insert a catheter into Strong Brown’s bladder. Unfortunately, Strong Brown did not make it and passed on in the evening. This happened on the day of the KMBS Funfair where Lester was helping us at the booth. Lester was coordinating the case with his mum, Jenny, on the phone and we assured him that we will help with funds for the needed treatment to save the puppy’s life.
We have sponsored in full (RM559) for Strong Brown’s surgery and treatment. This sponsorship comes from all donors through our Medical Fund (RM139), Berjaya Cares (RM140), Ms Cindy Lim (RM163) and Mr Kok Khee Wee (RM117). As per policy, our subsidy is 50% while Ms Cindy Lim and Mr Kok have topped up the balance.

Subject: Application for Strong Brown Male Puppy
To: Chan Kah Yein <chankahyein@gmail.com>Good evening miss,I would like to apply for a medical subsidy for this puppy. He was supposed to be adopted but unfortunately, he passed away.Last Sunday during our usual rounds of feeding, we noticed something was wrong with this puppy. He could not walk with his back legs and we realized that his bottom part sort of ‘dropped’ and ‘sagged’.We called a vet at 12am+ and the vet picked up. The vet advised us to bring him home until a vet is open tomorrow. When we brought him back, he urinated blood. The next day, Monday, was Malaysia Day, a public holiday. Not many vets are open.
Mum decided to bring this puppy to a vet that was open and I was not in to follow her.
The vet is an experienced vet with internal issues.
The vet performed the surgery for almost an hour with my mum patiently waiting outside.Halfway during the surgery, the vet called my mum to go into the operation theater and explained the puppy’s situation. The puppy had a small puncture wound and the vet suspected that it was one of his siblings who bit him.
It punctured and ruptured his tube for him to urine and it was a very fine tube. The vet could not find the punctured part. The urine was accumulated around his stomach area. The vet gave my mum 2 options: either to put him down or put a tube for him to urine and seek other vets for advice. Mum called me to consult me with this matter and of course, we did not put him down and chose the first option. We have not practiced euthanasia before.Mum brought him back and nursed him. I came back home and I gave him as much love as I can. It was really sad. He ‘woke’ up during intervals to cry. We somehow managed to make him feel at ease during these intervals so he can go back and rest. This was during yesterday afternoon.Slowly, the intervals became longer and longer and at 8 something yesterday night, he passed away peacefully.May this strong boy finally rest in peace.Attached are the photos. My dad buried him this morning before he went to work when mum and I were sleeping.Thank you very much,Lester Hiew
Be free and happy now, Strong Brown.
May love and kindness accompany you always.
