Thank you very much, Ipoh SPCA!

Recently, Ipoh SPCA organised a highly successful and meaningful adoption drive. Here is an excerpt of a news report sent to us by one of our readers:

ISPCA vice-president Ricky Soong said the society’s aim of holding the adoption programme and flea market wawas to find good homes for its strays and spread awareness regarding animal welfare.

“If the public finds it wrong for children to abandon parents who are sick and old, the same applies for animals.

“They should also spay or neuter their pets as to not contribute further to the problem of stray animals roaming our streets.

“To aid in this cause, the ISPCA has a trap, neuter and release (TNR) programme, while also providing an RM50 subsidy for every stray animal spayed or neutered by members of the public,” he said.

Apologies as the reader did not send us the link to this story so we cannot produce it in full in case it is copyrighted.

In the report, a nun from Sungai Siput who looks after about 35 stray dogs, brought 9 dogs for adoption at the drive and these dogs managed to find good homes. In total, the adoption drive saw 130 dogs and cats being given up for adoption.  Now, this is indeed an impressive number.

The Ipoh SPCA also gave out my books during the drive and collected donations for us. We wish to thank Ipoh SPCA, Ms Jackie Fang, Mr Keith Yoong and all donors, very, very much for this.

Thank you, Joy E. Saga, for taking my books down to Ipoh!

We hope that with our brochures distributed, more Ipoh folks, if need be, will apply for our neutering and medical subsidy, to help more animals in their area.

Congratulations, Ipoh SPCA, and thank you very much!
