Meeting an ear-notched cat! (a sharing by Koo)

THIS is exactly what we are working towards and hoping to see in the near future – ear-notched animals living harmoniously among us, well-fed too!

Stray-friendly, not stray-free, please. Stray-free isn’t fair to the animals because this is their home too. Let’s share the earth, folks.

The earth belongs to them too.

Hi Dr Chan,

I was in town last Sunday for breakfast and I encountered a stray cat. Initially, my heart sank when I saw her big belly but then, I saw her very obvious v-notched ear! This was different from the cat I
encountered the last time on the same road (ref:
http://animalcare.my/2013/04/23/a-meeting-with-an-ear-notched-cat-a-sharing-by-koo/
) where that cat’s ear was tipped. This cat was very friendly and playful as she would roll on the floor. She kept rubbing against me when I tried to take pictures of her. I certainly did not need to feed her since she’s obviously (too!) well-fed. Looks like the unknown feeder is continuing his/her cat TNRM in this commercial area. I’ll apply Revolution to her to help her be flea-free if I encounter her again. So, if anyone is in this area,
keep a lookout for this cat and give her a cuddle as she’s only looking for human company and not food.

Thanks and best regards,

Koo

If you would like to know where to meet this lovely cat, please contact Koo directly. For the safety of the cat, we do not publish details of the location.

And speaking of stray-friendly versus stray-free, I just read an article today which mentioned that the homeless humans do not want to be locked up at the detention centres or “homes”. They just want to be free to live their lives.

Which is precisely what we are working towards for the animals too. Hence, stray-friendly, not stray-free.  To achieve this, we need compassionate people, which is also what we are working towards!

Little by little is the water jug filled…

I think this is the same cat I saw the other day. Very friendly. When I approached her, she came up to me and rubbed against my leg. I saw some kibbles on the floor so I guess someone has been feeding her.
