A word of grateful thanks to all the nice people

“Thank you”s should never be delayed, because we don’t know when we are going to die and we wouldn’t want to leave this world without having said our “thank you”s to those whom we are grateful to.

It has always been challenging dealing with difficult, back-stabbing and ungrateful applicants. We have to constantly tell ourselves that our main objective is to help the animals, so sometimes, we have to put up with the human shortcomings. How much of the heartache we can put up with, I really don’t know. We are unenlightened; our patience is not limitless. So the only way to plod on is to tell ourselves that the difficult humans are here as our “teachers” to give us an opportunity to practise more patience!

But rather than talk about the negative (as we all know it takes all kinds to make the world), let’s focus on the positive.

Here’s a word of thanks to all applicants who have made the effort to help us by making our work a little easier and for making our daily work happier.

For every difficult human, there are easily five wonderful ones and this is something to be celebrated!

Here’s thanking applicants who make the effort to read our policies and submit compliant applications.

Here’s thanking applicants who compile photos into collages to save us some time in doing them and figuring out which tabby is which or which brown local pup is which.

Here’s thanking applicants who bother to check their emails to ensure the process of submission goes smoothly.

Here’s thanking applicants who resubmit the application when requested to do so.

Here’s thanking applicants who understand that our funds are not easy to come by, that we have to work very hard to procure the funds, and so they only apply when they truly need them.

Here’s thanking applicants who say “please” and “thank you”. After all, we are Malaysians and “kita orang yang beradab”.  A little bit of courtesy goes a long way towards forging goodwill.

Here’s thanking applicants who do not demand to be paid on the very day that they think their application (by ordinary post) should have arrived. Thank you very much for understanding that I do have a fulltime job besides having to process 100-120 cases in a month and ensure that there are enough funds to help everyone who submit compliant applications. But for the record, payment has never been delayed except for the time that I was hospitalised for dengue fever.

Here’s also thanking applicants who, during the times of their respective festivities, think of other animals besides their own, and donate to our Fund so that a little more love can make the world go round for other animals. One good turn deserves another. Your generosity is much appreciated.

Here’s thanking applicants who help by sharing our Gifts by Donation link with their friends and family so that we can get more funds to help the many animals (and their caregivers) who come through us.

Here’s thanking applicants who liaise with us in the spirit of full disclosure, honesty and goodwill.

And last and certainly not least, here’s thanking everyone who has made it possible for AnimalCare to exist. To our donors, supporters and well-wishers, you are the best!

Bless you all.  Truly.

Thank YOUThank heavens for good people!

And thank you Dr Chan-ngiao for taking care of all street animals. And for posting really informative posts that taught Mama what to do and what not to do when Grandpa first found me and Pumpkin-ngiao. Thank you for somehow saving our lives.

    Purrs…
