“Matron” Don’t-Mess-With-Me Heidi

So, the other day I was saying that Heidi had been my most dedicated nursemaid for the last 2-3 months when I was sick. “Nursemaid” she may be, but she can certainly stand her ground when the situation warrants it.

So, instead of “nursemaid”, perhaps “Matron” would be a more fitting title. After all, one does not mess with the matrons in the hospital, does one?

This morning, while I was at work, my husband was upstairs when he suddenly heard loud war cries. It definitely sounded like a fight was starting or was already underway.

He rushed down and found Cow in the kitchen, with fur all fluffed up, standing off with….Heidi.

Yes, little Heidi. Matron Heidi, to be more accurate.

On hindsight, husband is not sure whether it was Cow’s war cries that he heard or Heidi’s, because although the war cries sounded very vicious and savage, Heidi was just standing her ground, unhurt. And surprise, surprise, Cow was retreating.

Cow retreating???

Yes, he said Heidi was standing confidently, nonchalantly, and Cow’s fur was all fluffed up and he was retreating (in defeat?).

On your left, Cow. One your right, Heidi.

Verdict: No eye witnesses, but from the aftermath, it may appear that Heidi emerged victorious.

Do not mess with the Matron. She is small, but she can hold her own.
